I quit my job for the exact same reason: I felt I was selling off my soul to some horrid, mostly corrupted people whom I detested and did not have a shred of respect for them and their characters.
Every morning I drove off to work, I felt I was betraying myself for a paycheck

In the long run, the opportunities that are right for you have a way of finding you. Sometimes you wish so dearly that a new relationship or a big chance will go your way. It can feel like heartbreak when it falls through. But you have to dust yourself off and keep reaching and keep working. Water always finds its level. Stay in the game, keep your energy high, and do your best each day. You'll find the moments that are meant for you.

I’m convinced that the worst decisions in life are made when you allow your head to talk you into something when your gut already said no.

Behavior reveals priorities.
Let it. Avoid generous interpretations.
No more "they're just busy" "they're scared because they really like me" or "they're still healing."
Stop.
Instead, ask yourself, "If I took this at face value, with no interpretation, what would it mean?"

I encourage you to remember this often-neglected question as you begin to see the infinite possibilities outside of your current comfort zone.
Whether a yearlong sabbatical, a new business idea, reengineering your life within the corporate beast, or dreams you’ve postponed for “some day,” there has never been a better time for testing the uncommon.

When I go into a situation, I try to keep a mindset of baseline optimism.
- When starting the day: It's going to be a good day.
- When meeting someone new: I'm going to like them.
- When trying something challenging: It's going to work out.
Problems will inevitably arise and I'll deal with them as the situation demands, but my preference is to assume I'm on a winning path until proven otherwise.
