Abortion ban exceptions for "medical emergencies" fail so many people needing timely care. The wonky legal language is intentionally confusing to navigate. It's not applicable to the way medicine works. People should be able to access abortions they need, regardless of reason.

We are pro-abortion Identifying as “pro-choice” isn’t enough. If the nearest abortion clinic is hundreds of miles away, a person may have a “choice” to get an abortion but if they lack transportation, the ability to take time off work, or the funds, their “choice” doesn’t exist.
