Very sad to report that the Hastings Pier Charity administrators have flown in the face of public opinion, common sense and business sense. This is the email sent to the HPC shareholders this evening.😰We shall regroup to consider next steps. #HastingsPier

Terrible News: Why Why Why would the Heritage Lottery Fund hand this public asset over to a private businessman, after investing 11 million of public money and all the local initiatives which are keen to make it a community owned pier? This needs protest and investigation! xitter.cf/FOHP2018/status/100772…

Extraordinary lack of communication from the 'Pirate of Eastbourne'! No explanation about where our expensive marketing collateral has disappeared too & why he doesn't want events @Hastings_Pier @HastingsObs @HastingsOnlineT @FOHP2018
Oh well... moving events to @MaryintheCastle

It's a real shame we had to move our performances from @Hastings_Pier in August, all these lovely people will be deprived of a unique experience! And our charity has taken a big financial hit.. having to move venues at short notice..

The new owner of @Hastings_Pier clearly has no intention of supporting cultural events .. all our marketing disappeared, breaking the contract we had for supportive infrastructure. He sounds like a Pirate! Is he an asset stripper?

I'm there this weekend selling at a vintage fair, I do hope we are shown support but I'd completely understand if not. Let's fight on, join in with FOHP plans & stay positive
