ALT The custom-created massive glass panels in the sitting area are motorized—when open, they completely disappear. The Brenno sofas are the homeowners’ favorite pieces from their previous home. The painting is by South African artist Catherine Christie.

ALT The husband’s game room accommodates his Ferrari, and a custom pool table and poker table with matching bases by Boynton Billiards. The ceiling detail of multiple, angled, squares was created by Paladino and Rudd.

ALT Warm oak flooring sets the great room’s organic tone that is picked up in the richly stained, tongue-and-groove hood in the kitchen. Here, an aqua island for food prep and a white one for casual dining complement Soho Kitchens’ white Shaker cabinetry and a mosaic glass backsplash by Glazzio. Smoked-glass pendants by Modern Forms line the tongue-and-groove ceilings that define the living area comfortably seated with Taylor King’s sofas and lounge chairs.

ALT In the middle of the dining room, Sanders placed a large brass and glass table, and infused the room with brass accents. The McLean Wiesand dining room chairs are an obvious nod to Palm Beach, Sanders said, “but in a cleaner way with the white and the leather.”

ALT Sharing an open floor plan with the living space, the dining room repeats the handcrafted wood motif with another Black Creek Mercantile & Trading Co. table, paired with black-stained oak Danish chairs from Suite NY.

ALT Niche cabinetry and Boffi’s panels line the walls of the family room, while Artefacto’s teak wood cocktail table topped in glass centers the space in watery reflection.

ALT Celebrated design firm Luxury Frontiers—a name synonymous with Africa’s most ultra-luxurious tented camps—was commissioned to create this first generation of safari-inspired accommodation in Latin America, an outstanding, 25-tent hillside retreat in direct view of the 4,500-foot tall Arenal Volcano.

ALT In 2017, the homeowners bought the lot behind the house to create an expansive yard. A tractor tire swing offers a playful but quaint Old Florida moment. Because the home is all angles or squares, all the outdoor pieces chosen are round, and made of synthetic wicker to survive the Miami weather. A simple but significant change was made to the back of the home’s architecture, when skinny metal tube columns were expanded to almost two feet wide and squared off to provide a framed view of the pool and lawn.

ALT Two traditional hand-woven hammocks from Nicaragua beckon from the wood deck that was added to the breakfast terrace. The designer worked closely with the artisan who customized the weave to make the side skirts longer to pull it up as a cover and longer in length to fit the space.
