Boiler Room offering local DJs a fee equivalent of 475€ to play a 3000 capacity, non-broadcast event where they will charge up to 40€ for a ticket is exactly the reason why I left. This should not be considered normal.

I mean my family have been on this land for at least 800 years, but I guess as they were merely the labourers who worked the land rather than the ones who managed to grab ownership for themselves, we don’t count?
Perhaps if inheritance tax is deemed unfair by farmers we can instead have a wealth tax on all land, with the proceeds ring-fenced for a community buy out fund to allow local communities to own & control more land, as they do in Scotland?
"My family's been on this land for 375 years. I want to pass this down to my boys... you're taking that away from me... shame on you"

Quick reminder that 355 huge aristocratic estates benefit from a *different* inheritance tax break for 'heritage assets', separate to APR
This rewards them for owning ecologically damaging grouse moors & pheasant shoots
Let's close this loophole:

The clearest bit of Kamala Harris' otherwise fuzzy platform was her ongoing support for Israel's genocidal war machine and her deep contempt for pro-Palestine voters.
This is what it cost her in Michigan.

guitars sounded better in the 90s. just overall. i'm convinced that there's some type of scientific or metaphysical explanation for this. astrological, even. stars, planets, or other celestial bodies aligning, proximity to god, I don't know. but guitars sounded better in the 90s.

It looks crap. What rubbish place. No trees, no wetlands, no insects, no oceans, no chocolate, no record shops, no lichen no birds. Rather than being an alternative home for humanity, its a warning of what we will end up with on this planet if we continue as we are.

When you play jazz records—even canonical ones by Dolphy, Alice, Pharoah, etc.—in public in front of normies instead of in your own pad, it really brings into focus how strange a lot of this music is. I could vividly sense their discomfort. It really is all about context.
