🚨Jennifer Melle has been completely vindicated as the NMC has now dropped all charges against her.
This is the right outcome, but how did it get to this point?
Why did it take 18 months for the NMC to realise she did NOTHING wrong?
Why did the NHS pursue an ideologically motivated witch-hunt against a hardworking nurse?
How many other nurses will suffer a similar fate for stating biological reality?
Why did it take a cross-party group of MPs, led by Kemi and myself, to challenge the NHS and NMC to save Jennifer’s livelihood?
Will anyone be held accountable for their failure?
We will not stop fighting for them and the countless other nurses being hounded for defending their rights.
(1) BREAKING: The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has dropped its cases against Christian nurse Jennifer Melle after she was accused of posing a “risk to the public” over a pronouns dispute involving a convicted paedophile prisoner.
Common sense, conscience and truth have prevailed. Following an investigation, the NMC ruled that Jennifer had no case to answer...but the process is the punishment.
Jennifer has been supported from the beginning of her ordeal by the Christian Legal Centre. Her employment tribunal case had been settled in April but Jennifer still faced two investigations by the nursing regulator, which could have ended her career.
Last December it looked certain that Jennifer would be sacked and would be investigated for years by the NMC. Now, this has dramatically turned around and we give huge thanks to @KemiBadenoch and @ClaireCoutinho and all the other MPs who came together to support Jennifer in her darkest hour.

Strange that there is no award for Lou Macari in the New Year’s honours. Again. It's so wrong. Macari deserves to be honoured not only for services to football but especially for services to the community and tending to the homeless in Stoke-on-Trent. He embodies everything an honour should be about – compassion and humility. “There are people waking up in the cold, in a doorway, no job, no breakfast, no lunch, freezing, no evening meal," Macari told me last year. "Sleeping rough is horrendous and I thought I can do something.” And he did - building a home for the homeless, giving them a place of their own, giving them respect, love and hope. @LouMacari10 saves lives.
