I used to fix broken marketing programs. Now I do Ops and build stuff @ Avicado. Still helping good people build good things.

Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for my first software engineering role. Currently making some updates to my portfolio to get some projects up and launch the blog as well. If you know of any companies doing any hiring or even any promising collaboration opportunities, pls share! Thx

I love Notion but the lack of recurring tasks make it non-viable as a PM tool. Service-driven teams are built on recurring tasks. Any chance that's in the roadmap @NotionHQ ?

I know a few folks followed me from the #Opsy community and my team needs someone opsy on our team: avicado.com/about/careers/?g… Great team, 4x'd last year, won all the Inc. awards blah blah blah :) It's genuinely a great place to work & grow. DM me with any Q's

I won't make it to my next indie anniversary (going in-house, amazing opp) but I'm reflecting on big lessons. Perhaps the biggest: care about things in the right order--when they start to become painful.

It really comes down to addressing the bottlenecks to your success. What's holding you back from achieving your full vision? Sometimes it will be sales. Sometimes healthy balance. Sometimes you will need to get opsy and fix broken processes. But do things in the right order.

It's probably why I appear so productive despite working very reasonable hours. "Don't do things that don't make sense" is a good habit to cultivate.
Still very appreciative of @carolinesyrup for having me on the Opsy pod. We talked marketing operations (with focus on agency model in second half). I am bullish that ops is still early days for digital marketers. Here's the link: opsy.simplecast.com/episodes…

Hey, it's me talking marketing ops! Which is a thing that exists! Thanks for having me on the pod @carolinesyrup - I've already re-thought through every question you asked me and have different, nuanced answers :)
Replying to @carolinesyrup
I invited my favorite marketing ops guy @EverythingSwan on the Opsy.work podcast to talk about this + more, including: ⚡ The industry changes + tooling that led to this shift ⚡ What marketing ops even is + how to break in ⚡ Pros/cons of consulting as an ops pro

Scenes from a personal, annual retrospective. I believe this fits my criteria of #opsy @carolinesyrup

Listening to Opsy.work this morning with @jenistyping & @carolinesyrup - super candid episode, really appreciate that. I also had the same thoughts about my direction (should I go MBA?). open.spotify.com/show/75GDvy…

"Blacking out while giving company-wide updates" is a hilarious shared experience and I'm laughing alone in my office thinking about my experiences here.

Was on a pod recently (out in Jan!) and I expressed "bottom up freelancing" - basically starting at low-end services with small clients and moving up market in both to become a real consultant. I'm not in a rush to retire so I wasn't in a rush to peak out my title...

As a client now, there's nothing worse than a "consultant" who is out of their depth. I'm not the name police but you need deep expertise if you call yourself a consultant/-cy. Don't do it because you feel you can charge more. Good clients find you out.

Great first ep! Fav part was talking about "Change Management". Happens every day at every company, usually with a prayer that it works. But there's plenty to help improve the success rate. Love it.
The Opsy podcast is live! 🎉💜👯 If I've learned anything in recent months, it's that operations is a vague term and no one has the same definition. 😅 Excited to dig into what is and isn't and how the field is changing with a bunch of smart folks! opsy.work/podcast-megan-bian…
CTRL+K or CMD+K should be the shortcut to linking text in @SlackHQ (like every other tool) and I'm prepared to go to BATTLE over this.

Also, pollution/emissions. But I'm on a simmer with that today.
One of my superpowers is the ability to say no to things that I shouldn't be doing.
