Graham Hughes, "The old British passport was the most powerful in the world.. Not only could it get me into 180 odd countries without a visa" @EveryCountry "It could also allow me to live, work, marry, fall in love, retire, build a house, start a business, anywhere in the European Union.. That's from taken from me. From nearly all of you" "It's not been taken from Nigel Farage, he can afford the visa fees, to pay for the permits, to have £28k in his bank account to show his means to survive in that country, we don't" "He's not taken it away from his children.. They have German passports.. Tommy ten names has got an Irish passport" "They haven't taken their own freedoms away.. They've just taken them from you and me" "This new British passport is just an old rose on every page.. It's blank.. It's boring.. It's made in Poland by a French company.. Very emblematic of Brexit" "We've got a long way to go to #RejoinEU Every step we have taken is a step towards our friends, our families our colleagues and coworkers in the European Union" "We are never going to lose sight of the goal.. We don't know how long it will take.. But one day my friends, we will rejoin the EU" #MarchForRejoin @MarchForRejoin

Remember when Darren Grimes threatened that if people got to vote on the Brexit Deal, nazis would roam the streets punching people? Politicians sacrificed democracy to appease people like him, and here we are. If you give the far-right an inch, they'll burn down your city.

Let’s be clear: Someone who suggested the “termination” of the Constitution should never have the chance to stand behind the seal of the President of the United States. Never again.

Bigots who’ve built entire careers inciting precisely the evil we’re witnessing did not ‘warn’ of it. The only honest ‘warnings’ came from people who explained what would happen if we kept giving racist liars newspaper columns, TV & radio slots & season tickets for Question Time.

The Upside Down Propaganda works on repeat — “lock her up”, “build a wall”, “drain the swamp” — catchphrases laced with misogyny, cruelty, and racism, hypernormalized through repetition and frequency. The cruelty then becomes the point. During the Trump era, it became normal to be racist in public, rather than be shunned. The modern origins of this can be traced to Vladislov Surkov, Vladimir Putin’s longtime political technologist and the main architect of the Kremlin’s propaganda factory. Surkov merged theatre and politics in what became known as “theatre craft” or dramaturgia as a means to help keep Putin in power. Also known as the “fog of unknowability”, theatre craft turns everything into political spectacle designed to keep people confused and in fear. The “strongman” becomes the savior, his cruelty normal and necessary, while the empathetic and “woke” people are demonized as weak or part of the “out group”. 17/

1/🚨 Tommy Robinson and Russia🚨Given recent days, questions should be asked about Robinson's links to Russia. In 2020, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (aka Tommy Robinson) went to Moscow & St Petersburg. This marked his 1st overt meeting with figures tied to malign elements within Russia. Some he met specialise in foreign influence operations / spreading disinformation.

Tommy Robinson should be arrested on national security grounds. These protests are not organic. They are organised & he called for them.

I'm not saying @jk_rowling is a male. I'm just saying we have zero proof that she's not a male. And until we see her chromosomes, can she be trusted in women's spaces?

This should be our Dunblane moment. Only with social media not guns. @elonmusk is a feckless billionaire whose algorithms pose an imminent threat to life. He won’t act. So it’s critical that we now do. theguardian.com/media/articl…

The worst part about the #FarageRiots is that the memory of the three murdered girls and support for their families and friends has moved to second place as criminal racist looting thugs, spurred on by populists - including sitting members of our own parliament - take to the streets causing havoc We should be remembering Alice Dasilva Aguiar, Bebe King, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, praising the police who came to catch the murderer, and the other emergency service workers from the ambulances to the doctors and nurses who did what they could at this truly horrific time And we should be asking ourselves the extent to which mental health services underfunded by the Conservative government of 14 years, led to a situation where a 17 year old autistic child born and raised in Wales ended up murdering three young girls at a Taylor Swift dance party Instead, everything since the rioting began has been about thugs terrorising people in towns and cities across our country. They've made this about themselves and their egos, taking away from the memory of the lost children and the support their families need at this extremely difficult time The thugs do not represent the vast majority of the British people yet their behaviour is impacting large swathes of our communities We saw how Boris Johnson, Michael Gove, Nigel Farage, Jacob Ree-Mogg, Matthew Elliott, Dominic Cummings, Daniel Hannan, Rishi Sunak, and so many others all stoked divisive anti EU and anti immigration/asylum seeker policies to push for Brexit. The division all of these and others caused has helped flame the anger felt by the far right thugs who are venting a mix of anti-immigrant rhetoric, with the effects of 14 years of underfunding public services Why is our system so broken that no legal action is taken against those who have caused these divisions? We are meant to live in a world where individuals and communities feel safe with one another, support one another, and contribute to society, improving things for everyone May we find paths to peace in our communities and societies, because the alternative of more division doesn't help anyone other than the populists who are driving diversionary narratives Putin separated the UK from the EU dividing Europe with Brexit. Now foreign influence is agitating and frustrating men and women, causing anger, division, public disorder, and damage to our high streets We, all of us, do and should want our country back - but this isn't a racist call, it's a call for unity against those who try to divide us, and it is a call to support those who protect us, such as the police, not make them targets of vented anger and frustration The murder of Alice Dasilva Aguiar, Bebe King, and Elsie Dot Stancombe should anger us all, but how we respond determines whether or not we build our communities, make them stronger, and protect each other from further injustices

Do you remember when @GaryLineker said some of the dehumanising language used by the last Tory government about migrants and asylum seekers was reminiscent of Germany in the 30s. And the right were furious. Outrageous they screeched. Well, he wasn't wrong was he.

The scenes in Rotherham aren’t a protest, they aren’t even a far right riot, they are an ongoing attempt to murder the men, women & children inside by burning them alive. The stench of these days will hang around those who incited and justified it for the rest of their lives.
