Not no big deal.

We could just shrug away ambient flu in the past, but we can't shrug away ambient C19: it suppresses the immune system far too much. You see this by how much more often people fall prey to other bacterial infections after a C19 infection compared to a flu infection:

We were warned. The similarities between HIV damage and COVID damage have been known for a few years.
Both deplete CD4 and CD8 immune cells.
It took 7 years to fully realize HIV caused AIDS. Initially, HIV caused flu-like symptoms, which resolved.
Does everyone remember when an Infectious Disease Specialist renown for her work in HIV said that the damage SARS-CoV-2 causes and LongCOVID are eerily similar to HIV and then we did nothing about it?

ALT In Cleveland and beyond researchers begin to unravel the mystery of long COVID-19 Updated: Feb. 08, 2024, 4:48 p.m. | Published: Oct. 22, 2022, 5:41 a.m. "HIV patients don't die from the virus itself. They die from immune activation - from the high levels of inflammation that causes cancer, heart disease, liver and kidney disease," she said. "The only reason we cannot cure HIV is because the virus hides where the HIV drugs can't go in. So it continues to fuel this high

Post‑COVID syndrome in children compared with adults (Review)
‼️“Almost 25%”
🔥Interesting review as they struggle to admit their mistakes in understanding and addressing C19 in children, but at least some Paediatricians are waking-up!
➡️"As in adults, post‑COVID syndrome in children and adolescents is a multisystem clinical entity with a multifactorial pathogenesis."
➡️"The present research revealed that almost 25% of children and adolescents with COVID‑19 develop long‑COVID symptoms after recovery from their illness or discharge from hospital."
➡️"Nevertheless(Surprise 😉), some symptoms may persist for >1 year, which may impact their social and educational activities and overall well‑being."
➡️"Identified factors associated with an increased risk for long‑COVID in children and adolescents include an age >10 years, female sex, poor physical or mental status at the time of initial SARS‑CoV‑2 infection, neurological comorbidities, severe acute SARS‑CoV‑2 infection, development of MIS, and a PCR‑positive at 3 months following the initial SARS‑CoV‑2 diagnosis( Chronic infections?)."
➡️"Published evidence indicates that COVID‑19 vaccination is associated with an overall significantly lower risk of developing long‑COVID, particularly among adolescents."
➡️"Knowledge on post‑COVID syndrome in children and adolescents and its impact in both physical and psychological domains is evolving."
➡️"Nevertheless, there are still a number of gaps, particularly regarding the pathogenetic mechanisms involved."
😡Better late than never, but it remains a medical disgrace, many children are still in growing numbers subject to!
