Last week, Haiti's former ombusdmen was among the people sent back without his property. He was detained with two cellphones and not one was returned to him; we also have cases of people detained in South Florida after going to the bank and landing in Haiti without their cash. Really happy to teach a session of the @DukeSanford Policy Analysis for Development course @hpostel today for some really accomplished masters students. One thing is clear, @USAID may be destroyed but the hunger for development is not going away.

New @McDonalds design has worsened McD's excessive use of plastic. Now if you want to fill your H2O bottle with ice and H2O there is no dispenser - they fill a plastic cup in the back & give it to you. And if you have 2 to fill, you can't reuse the cup, you get a 2nd cup. Boo!
