Tutorials can teach you a lot. But building is where it starts to stick.

What's a random but important fact you think more people should know? I'll start: Most people overestimate what they can learn in a day and underestimate what they can learn in a year.

Stick to your program, upgrade the program, edit the program, add to the program, subtract from the program but stick to your program

8 days left until @Oracle’s Race to (FREE) Certification Program ends.

Security+ costs $404 but gives you DoD 8570 compliance. That one cert opens thousands of government contractor jobs paying $70K-$90K starting. Professor Messer's course is free on YouTube. No degree required for most positions.

Thank you @Oracle for inviting me to the Oracle AI event in Nashville with Roger Barga, SVP of AI/ML highlighting the AI ecosystem, AI agents, & enterprise grade solutions. I Enjoyed learning about scaling AI across biometrics, support, and DevOps.

I think a lot of people were smart for getting those free Oracle certs tbh. Even if they never work on a single Oracle system, it can still help jumpstart learning journeys and careers.

I’ve spent the last 4 years working almost daily in Microsoft SQL Server + Oracle DB to monitor and manage data

The guys who say "data engineering is dead because of AI" are the same guys who said "SQL is dead" in 2010 and 2015 and 2020 and 2025. Remember that data is so important! If you are data literate, it doesn't matter how the pipelines are written or generated. We will always need more data literate people in the world!

This multi-cloud cost optimization project is teaching me a lot from a FinOps perspective. Everything from spotting misconfigurations to forecasting savings across AWS, Azure, and GCP ☁️

A hiring manager told me out of his mouth verbatim that your pay as a contractor is based off the labor charges which is determined by years of experience, not certifications. He told me once I get my masters to let HR know and ask for more money.
