The Silver Institute is pleased to offer its thoughts on the 2026 silver market. After posting its strongest annual performance since 1979 last year, silver prices continued to set new highs in 2026, fueled by rising investor interest. The metal reached multiple record levels in January, breaching the psychologically important $100 level for the first time. As a result, the gold:silver ratio fell below 50, a level last seen in 2012. Silver then declined below US$80.00 but has since demonstrated resilience, forming technical price support.
