The NFU is right. This is the new climate reality. It doesn't matter whether people believe it's climate change. It won't care when we run out of water, food costs rocket & wildfires spread. We need a Climate Adaptation Minister to lead cross-govt action independent.co.uk/news/uk/ho…

After the record breaking hot weather in this year, it’s not a surprise that more than half of England is in drought, including my constituency. Climate change is effecting our farming, food security and water scarcity. We must take urgent action. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckg3…

Amber health alerts are in place again as parts of the UK enter a fourth heatwave. 2 in 5 of the deaths caused by heatwaves so far this year were due to the additional heat from climate change. @imperialcollege @metoffice @LSHTM

Our report found that these risks are not equally shared. Those with existing health problems, on low incomes, and pregnant women are at greater risk. The UK is unprepared for extreme heat: hospitals have to cancel operations, schools have to shut, infrastructure buckles.
