Playing billiards with the Snapchat AR spectacles on. There's a lens that overlays where I need to hit the ball to make the shot. Is this cheating or nah? ๐Ÿค“ (Too bad I scratched anyway)

One of the things I shared with @specs developers last week is that you canโ€™t build a thriving developer ecosystem without investing in the next generation of builders. Academia is a critical part of that. Our ambition with SPECS is to give students, educators, universities, and researchers more opportunities to learn, experiment, build, and help shape what comes next in spatial computing. That means: 1. Making SPECS more accessible to student developers 2. Bringing spatial development into classrooms and universities 3. Supporting research 4. Creating more pathways for students to go from learning to becoming active members of the SPECS developer community

$SNAP just wrapped its SPECS event and there was A LOT of new information. The biggest announcement to me was SPECS Intelligence. Snap is building an anticipatory AI service that can understand your goals, routines and priorities, then surface useful information before you even ask for it. And it is not limited to the glasses. SPECS Intelligence is launching across SPECS, iPhone and Mac, with the iOS preview available today. You do not even need SPECS to use it. Snap also showed: - Real time translation across 60 languages - Walking directions overlaid into the real world - Tripadvisor integration - Shopify powered 3D shopping - YouTube, HBO Max and Spotify - A virtual screen that can feel like a 115 inch display - NBA and WNBA training experiences - Shared AR games and experiences between SPECS users - Snapchat redesigned specifically for SPECS The enterprise side might have surprised me the most. $SNAP is working with Salesforce $CRM, AWS $AMZN, NVIDIA $NVDA, Trifork and Hololight on enterprise use cases ranging from AI agents and company data to remote assistance and spatial workstations. Snap also announced a U.S. partnership with Verizon $VZ for cellular connectivity and financing. The new connected SPECS bundle will cost $2,395, while the standard SPECS remain $2,195. Privacy was another major focus. No facial recognition to identify people. No continuous recording. A visible external LED when recording. Snap also says personal information connected to SPECS Intelligence will not be used to train its AI models or serve personalized ads. My takeaway: SPECS has always been optionality in my $SNAP thesis. Today did not suddenly make it the thesis. But I think we got our clearest look yet at how large that optionality could eventually become. Snap is trying to build much more than a pair of AR glasses. AI, enterprise, shopping, entertainment, communication and everyday computing are all being built around the platform. Still extremely early and $2,195 is a major barrier. But the ecosystem forming around SPECS is becoming very interesting.

AI has had a voice for three years and no face. $SNAP changes that Wednesday.
The biggest spectacle of 2026 might just be AR. The thing that finally gives AI a face. $SNAP

Some awesome things have been built for @specs already. This wonโ€™t be a product without applications at launch. Check this out, Pokรฉmon Red rebuilt as a voxel world by Joshua Silva Maniche. This project and more have been posted on the @specs subreddit! Limitless potential!

BIG $SNAP NEWS.... SpaceX Is Now Advertising on $SNAP This is significant because it's the first time Elon has advertised SpaceX on another social media platform other than X. Q3 for $SNAP will be incredible. We will likely see a net-income-positive quarter for them, which should send the stock price to around $8. ELON x SNAP PARTNERSHIP IMMINENT ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ‘€

Building with CLAD is a conversation, not a one-shot prompt. Solar System Explorer was no different. Describe what you want, the agent takes a pass, you watch it run, then refine. A few rounds of that and you have the whole solar system orbiting the sidewalk.

Two players. One shared board. Real-time state sync across two devices. Built with CLAD and Sync Kit for Connected Lenses, this chess Lens shows how spatial computing can make multiplayer feel native to the room rather than another screen.

๐—ช๐—ต๐˜† ๐—œ ๐—๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜ ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ 3% ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ถ๐—ป $SNAP I spent the last couple of days listening to many interviews with Evan Spiegel, trying to understand the company, its problems and, more importantly, where the opportunity might be. The thesis is actually pretty simple. $SNAP has around 971 million people using the platform every month and 493 million using it every day. Yet the entire company is currently valued at only around $9 billion. ๐—ง๐—›๐—˜ ๐—ฉ๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—จ๐—”๐—ง๐—œ๐—ข๐—ก ๐—š๐—”๐—ฃ One way to understand how cheap that is is to look at how the market values each daily user: $RDDT: approximately $241 per daily user $META: approximately $393 per daily user $SNAP: approximately $18 per daily user Obviously, this comparison is not completely apples to apples. $META and $RDDT are much better at monetizing their users. But that is exactly the point. $SNAP does not need to become $META. It already has the users. It simply needs to become better at making money from them. ๐—ง๐—›๐—˜ ๐—•๐—จ๐—ฆ๐—œ๐—ก๐—˜๐—ฆ๐—ฆ ๐—œ๐—ฆ ๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—”๐——๐—ฌ ๐—œ๐— ๐—ฃ๐—ฅ๐—ข๐—ฉ๐—œ๐—ก๐—š $SNAP reported its latest earnings on August 3, 2026. Revenue grew 19% from a year earlier to $1.6 billion. Daily users grew 5%. Free cash flow increased from $24 million to $121 million, while the quarterly net loss fell from $263 million to $164 million. The company is still losing money on an accounting basis, but the direction is clearly improving. And when a company with almost 1 billion monthly users is valued at only around $9 billion, even relatively small improvements in monetization can have a huge effect on the value of the business. After listening to many interviews with Spiegel, it became pretty obvious to me that $SNAP could be one of the companies that benefits enormously from AI. Historically, $SNAP has had to compete for attention and advertising dollars against giants such as $META and TikTok, while operating with a fraction of their resources. AI changes some of that. Engineering becomes cheaper. Advertising becomes more efficient. Recommendations improve. Content becomes more personalized. Smaller companies can do things that previously required much larger teams. For $SNAP, that matters a lot. They already have the users. The problem has always been monetizing them. If AI helps $SNAP close even a small part of the monetization gap between itself and the larger social platforms, the operating leverage could be enormous. There is another interesting part of the story: Specs. $SNAP recently introduced its new augmented reality glasses at around $2,195. I think there is a very good chance they will be a commercial flop. At that price, it is difficult to see them becoming a mass-market product. Strangely, I think that could actually become a positive catalyst for the stock. Spiegel has spent years pursuing augmented reality hardware. If Specs fail badly enough, perhaps management finally understands that this is not where the value of $SNAP is today and starts focusing more aggressively on the core business. That would mean more attention on advertising, subscriptions, engagement, margins and monetizing the enormous user base they already have. But $SNAP doesnโ€™t need to close the entire gap. It doesnโ€™t even need to come close. It just needs to become less bad at monetizing the users it already has. If that happens, I think this can easily be a 100% stock from here. I initiated a 3% position today at $5.15 per share.

You can diagnose where your job search is going wrong depending on what level you consistently get rejected at. - If you're not getting calls, it's a resume problem. - If you're not making it past recruiter calls, it's usually you ended up not having the basic requirements or you're a flight risk - If it's the technical screen, you're not talking through your answers enough - If it's a manager round, you're not answering questions with depth or not a team fit. Now this specific situation is pretty common these days. Engineers think they should get an offer just because they solved a problem correctly. But they're missing the point. Managers aren't just looking for the answer, they're looking for how you got there. Talk through your thought process and solutions more and chances are you'll increase your chances of an offer.
