Great news as crime rates keep dropping for the communities we serve year after year! Our county is one of the safest places to live, work and visit in the United States. In fact, our patrol areas of Poway, Santee, San Marcos, Encinitas and Vista ranked among the safest cities in California. We use data to fight crime efficiently by deploying our resources to where they're needed most. Public safety is a collaborative effort. We're grateful for the support of government and community leaders in our contract cities, unincorporated areas and tribal communities. Let's continue working together for safer neighborhoods.

#KeepingYouSafe More than 100 unwanted weapons were collected during this weekend's @SDSheriff @SDSONCoastal Gun Safety Event in Encinitas.
We also gave out 20 cable locks and 35 gun safety lock boxes to people looking to secure their firearms.
