It has been a busy week of settling into a new role (and returning from mat leave 👶). I’ll really miss my wonderful colleagues @UCL_IOE_PHD but I’m also thrilled that everyone @EdgeHill_Psych is equally as lovely. I’m looking forward to meeting the students next 🤩

What a fabulous day @HVDL_Foundation conference focusing on oral language. Feeling inspired to reflect on how research can better align with practice and how to develop partnerships with practitioners from the outset, rather than seeing stakeholder engagement at the end.

It was a brilliant afternoon. Very grateful to @NuffieldFound for funding this project and hosting us at their workspace ☺️
We hosted a workshop for @EmmaJSumner & her team at @IOE_London. They shared research findings from their #NuffieldFunded project on exam access arrangements for students with literacy difficulties & introduced tools attendees can now use in their schools. ow.ly/Uw0X50Rm1ms

Really enjoyed coming out of hiding (mat leave) to deliver this KE workshop. So wonderful to have practitioners come together to think about how to improve access arrangements support for students in response to our research findings @NuffieldFound @UCL_IOE_PHD
A fantastic session with the #PAASS project and @CAntalekPhD, @EmmaJSumner and @DrAmeliaRoberts this afternoon exploring their research on exam access arrangements and practical application in schools. Great job everyone!

🚨📝We have updated our preprint "Comorbidity and causality among #ADHD #dyslexia & #dyscalculia"! We have now equated prevalences (<10%). Interested in #ReadingFluency and #spelling disorders? See supplements. @KeesJanKan @saraannhart @NTRscience psyarxiv.com/epzgy
🚨Hot Off the Press! "Comorbidity and causality among #ADHD, #dyslexia, & #dyscalculia". These disorders seem comorbid due to overlapping genetic risks, rather than one causally increasing the risk of another. 🧬 psyarxiv.com/epzgy (1/3)

Intervention for bilingual #DevLangDis tips: work on skills that transfer such as chunking, cognates (words with similar etymology) and semantic networks. If school can't support home language, then extra effort needed to include family. @HABLAlab
