It was great to welcome @maxwhitlock1 from @TeamGB to meet pupils from @ColvillePS to raise awareness of physical activity within London. Great work by @AldiUK with food vouchers providing healthy snacks as part of @LondonSport Opening Schools Facilities programme.

A multi-million pound fund to help local authorities keep afloat pools which struggled with energy bills has been launched. @Sport_England will manage this on behalf of government. It's part of the investment for facilities with pools announced in the #SpringBudget More⬇️ @DCMS

This is good news and many in the sector have been lobbying for help for pools. Thanks for listening @DCMS @StuartAndrew
We're providing £63 million to support public leisure centres with swimming pools. £40m will go towards making pools more energy efficient in the long term, with £20m to help leisure centres deal with rising costs.

It was great to meet you @caitlinmoran last week. At @LondonSport we’ve been raising the needs of local gyms with @StuartAndrew @DCMS and used the very example of YMCA in that @petepaphides writes about.
Thank you @petepaphides for writing so beautifully about why places like #CrouchEndFitness are so important 👇🏻

We’re concerned that we could lose vital assets like public pools due to sky high energy costs
🏊‍♀️A leading swimming pool operator says some London pools could close unless government reverses its decision to exclude them from the Energy Bills Discount Scheme. Government says it’s spent £18bn on support but reviewed it due to “unsustainable costs”. More @susana_mendonca⤵️
