On a rainy day in Nova Scotia, I visited the Anne Murray Centre in Springhill, Nova Scotia. The centre takes you through the life of Anne Murray, and it is a must stop for anyone interested in Canada's pop culture. One of my favourite museums in Canada.

Congratulations to Pete Fry on his election as Vancouver’s next Mayor. We go back many years, and I wish him every success. To Vancouver voters, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the honour of re-electing me to City Council. I’m immensely proud of my ABC Vancouver colleagues, our candidates, volunteers and campaign team. And a special thank you to Ken Sim for his leadership, friendship and for giving me this opportunity to serve. A new chapter begins, but my commitment to Vancouver and its people remain unchanged. I promise to keep listening, caring and working hard for the city I love. ❤️

Sad to hear of the passing of long time former NDP MP Irene Mathyssen. I was pleased to call Irene a friend. I had a great deal of respect for her. She was the epitome of what an MP should be : hard working, principled, fearless in her defence of the marginalised in Canada and globally. Rest well Irene. You worked hard and made a difference, which is the best any of us can hope to achieve in our short sojourn on this earth . A fitting epitaph for this extraordinary woman. Condolences to Lindsay and the family.

I am grateful to @MarkJCarney for his sympathy for Ukrainians amid the ongoing Russian strikes. The Prime Minister is very well informed about our defense needs, particularly anti-ballistic defense and preparations for winter. It is very good that Canada has become actively involved in developing the FREYJA anti-ballistic system jointly with Europe. This is exactly what can provide greater protection not only to Ukraine but also globally. Of course, we also discussed the energy ceasefire announced by the President of the United States. Ukraine supports this step, and we have stated so, but now we need a response from Russia – what Russia will say to the American President and whether it will stop striking our energy infrastructure. I thank everyone who helps defend Ukraine and advances clear, fair steps toward peace! Thank you to Canada and Mark personally for their full support!

14 years ago, I was struggling with homelessness and addiction, eating Thanksgiving dinner alone on the streets. Today, I'm sober, married, have a beautiful family, and get to celebrate Thanksgiving surrounded by the people I love and others I'm grateful to have in my life. The greatest gift isn't what's on the table, it's the people sitting around it and the fact that I'm alive, sober, and present to enjoy every moment. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. ❤️🇨🇦

Most everyone in Guelph have a memory about a time Robert Munsch showed up, and if they don’t, they know someone who does. For more than 50 years, the children’s author has made himself a part of the city’s collective consciousness and, chances are, if you grew up there, he visited your school. You might have seen him read from his books at the Guelph Public Library. Or he may have told you a story at a public park, a Christmas party, or from his front stoop. In return, he has become a part of the city’s identity. Last fall, Munsch made headlines for disclosing to the New York Times that he has chosen MAID, or medical assistance in dying, a decision spurred by a 2021 Parkinson’s and dementia diagnosis. His memory is now faltering, and will continue to fade. But in Guelph, encounters with Munsch have been so widespread over time, they form something of a living, breathing memory of his life as an artist, contained within the city’s borders. theglobeandmail.com/culture/…

Advance voting starts today, and this election comes down to a clear choice between two visions for our city: more of the same, or a team ready to deliver. I'm running to bring young people back. This campaign has been about listening: at the doors, at community events, and with city leaders. Four issues come up again and again: Security, Housing, Jobs, Connecting the SkyTrain to UBC. My team and I are ready to deliver on all four, and I humbly ask for your vote.

There are only two parties running for a majority for Mayor/Council, Park Board, and School Board. That is the Vancouver Liberals and ABC. The best way to beat Ken Sim and ABC is a vote for the Vancouver Liberals' entire slate.

Seniors built this city. They should be able to stay in it. Safer sidewalks. Bikes and scooters off the footpath. Free parking at Locarno and Spanish Banks. Clean washrooms. More disabled and caregiver parking. Faster seniors housing. Relief for new walk-in clinics. Senior centres that double as cooling spaces and more.

Vancouver doesn't need another City Hall to house more bureaucrats. It needs to invest in its frontline services, and that will be my priority, and the priority of a Vancouver Liberal government. Together, we can.

We support our firefighters. We are unequivocally committed to implementing the Dark Horse Review and ensuring those who fighting for us are getting the support they deserve.
Our members want to build their lives in Vancouver. Many simply can't afford to. It's getting harder to recruit firefighters to Vancouver, and harder to keep them here. A lot of our workforce lives outside the city, not by choice, but because of cost. 🧵 1/3
