10 percent boost in capacity to all transmission lines starting in 2028 by legislative fiat 🤣🤣🤣

Isn't it impossible? With all due respect to the folks at RFF, how can they justify any of this?

I've uncovered why LADWP water rates are skyrocketing. LADWP's supplier said water conservation was too successful, leading water use/revenue to collapse— justifying a 40% rate hike. They asked us to save water, so we did. But we saved too much, so they're spiking our rates.
An independent, non-city-affiliated audit of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power rates has been ordered by Mayor Karen Bass, her office says. ktla.com/news/local-news/ind…

I could definitely see that being a path forward - the DC contracts with another load with a lower VOLL to curtail on their behalf. So, at what price are you willing to sell your resource adequacy to Meta for 100 hours/year?

If you live inside the white line, your power grid is on an emergency alert today. That's this October heat, plus a lot of power plants down for fall maintenance. You don't have to do anything.

Maine utilities suing the state over the removal of the 50 basis point RTO participation incentive. FERC candy is a helluva drug.

Ooooof. Short report from Morpheus research on $FRVO Fervo Energy released last week looks brutal. Deep technical breakdown, interviews with ex-employees. Very thorough. Haven’t read the full report (long read), so won’t lazily share it. But it’s google-able if interested.

One funny thing about the environmentalist groups who don’t like permitting reform is that, well, of course you don’t like it. You’re the people who abuse NEPA and cause the problems the bill is trying to solve. Drunk drivers don’t like bills cracking down on drunk driving either

does this strike anyone else as being childish, unserious, and just dumb?
The Senator isn't kidding about BAAJA fixing inter-agency issues! If agencies fail to act on interagency dispute resolutions, the head of the agency is banned from traveling more than 25 miles (for business) The more I read BAAJA the better it gets! xitter.cf/SenWhitehouse/status/2…

And it does nothing. Absolutely nothing. Just restates current law. And that's the point. If it actually constrained data center construction, the AI industry would oppose it and Trump would kill it.

Now post the part about only being guaranteed 20%, and the BMS shuts it down at 10%.

do you ever get the impression that the permitting reform beltway "insiders" are intentionally lying to you about its chances because they have an incentive to drum up interest in their beat?

Whitehouse and Heinrich aren't going to give the administration a W right before the midterms. Especially knowing they are going to control both chambers thereafter.
