🚨The Trump administration wants to remand a crucial permit for Orsted’s revolution wind farm off the Rhode Island coast.
The DOJ motion made in a legal filing late Friday could threaten a delicate permitting deal with Democrats.

NEW: The Senate's permitting deal could be in trouble in the House already.
Rep. Huffman, who set to lead the House’s natural resources committee if Dems take control, said the deal raises "significant concerns" that would have to be resolved before most Dems could support it.
“Most Democrats will want to see how things go on Nov. 3 and then do a reality check,” Huffman said. “If we’re on our way to a majority in one or both Houses, it makes no sense to fold our hand when we could wait a few months and have a much better deal early next year.”

Senator Martin Heinrich says he’s confident the wind farm language dispute holding up permitting reform will be worked out.
But he declined to say if text would still be released today.
“i don't know when it will be resolved, but we are moving forward.”

A vote on long-sought legislation to speed permits for major energy and infrastructure projects is unlikely to happen before the election, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse said Thursday as Republicans accuse Dems of refusing to accept deal.
“We had more than a structure of a deal. It was pretty pens down,” West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito, the top Republican on the Senate environment committee, said. “I’m not sure what the status of that is today.”

While talks have been ongoing for months, ExxonMobil is proceeding cautiously as executives consider investing in a country where it had its assets nationalized twice since the 1970s, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the discussions are private.
