It is hard to believe that two years ago I wrote this piece on the front page of the @nationalpost, imploring Canadians to stand up against the growing wave of Jew hatred in our country.
Today, more than two years later, that hate has become more emboldened, more radicalized, and far too normalized through silence, complacency, and the unwillingness of too many to confront it head on.
Pandering while the fabric of our democratic society is chipped away by terror and extremism.
Hate does not disappear when ignored. It grows.
Just this week alone, posters of a missing 14-year-old girl were ripped down on the streets of Toronto. Why? Because she is Jewish. A child is missing and this is the response?
In Montreal, effigies including of a Jewish man wearing a kipah hanging at a pro-Hamas rally, a grotesque display of intimidation, hatred, and deadly bigotry. A blatant display of antisemitism.
Though not surprising when also this week, a member of parliament was openly photographed with supporters of the IRGC, who call for bloodshed in the west and the destruction of our values and collective safety.
Canada making international headlines for the hate that has infested our institutions and way of life.
This is not the Canada we should ever accept.
And I refuse to be silent.
Because this is not a Jewish issue. It is a Canadian issue. A human issue. And it is not the responsibility of our Jewish friends to fight the hatred being directed at them.
This is every Canadians fight.
So today, I implore once again for Canadians of conscience to speak out. Say enough. Demand more. And let’s stand together for a Canada we can all once again be proud to call home.

"Don't you BLOODY DARE say you want to keep the Jewish community safe, when you're part of the reason they're not."
"Shame on you!"
Absolutely SPOT ON.
Well said @JuliaHB1 👏👏👏

Don’t import your conflict to 🇨🇦.
When my parents came to 🇨🇦, they made a conscious decision to leave behind the war they fled.
The communist regime took everything from them, but they didn’t relitigate it here in 🇨🇦. They came here to start a new life of peace and opportunity.

Shame on any media outlet that can’t call this what it is, murder. Two innocent babies, their mother, and others did not simply “die”. They were kidnapped, murdered, and their bodies were held as bargaining chips by terrorists.
Anyone who doubts the brutality of Hamas, anyone who thinks these are people who can be negotiated with, look at what they did to Ariel and Kfir.
Hamas needs to be finished once and for all.

It’s so depressing. Six Israelis were murdered by terrorists yesterday, one of whom is an American citizen.
Every Jewish person I know is tweeting about it. But it’s radio silence almost everyone else, so including people who stood with me on women’s rights, LGBT rights and Black Lives Matter.
Why do so few people who say they care about social justice treat Jews like they matter?

Replying to @ElleCanada
Shameful @ElleCanada. Sarah Jama gleefully called the rape of Israeli women, propaganda, and you classify this as “breaking the glass ceiling and paving the way forward.” Her blatant bigotry is undeserving of any recognition. It is clear that Elle does not value the lives of Israeli women and rewards rape denial. Noted.

Canada has lost its way.
This is a direct threat to the Jewish community and we know that it does not end there. This is an attack on our Canadian values and the future of our country that must not go unanswered. Arrests and firm action must be taken against the perpetrators of hate in our city, our province and across our country
Enough is enough.
Deplorable hate that continues to go unanswered in our city. Action NOW!
@LeoBaeckDS and the Jewish community, we stand with you. Hate will not prevail.

Under @JustinTrudeau, 🇨🇦 has become a safe haven for terror.
Instead of deporting hatemongers and removing Samidoun’s NFP status, the Trudeau govt cancels @JNFca who have been rebuilding post-Oct. 7th.
JNF’s charitable status must be reinstated & Samidoun declared a terror org.

Be it Resolved, anti-Zionism is antisemitism
“There is no law of war that says you're allowed to start a war then complain when you lose it. If Medhi cares about the Palestinian casualties, then tell your bosses in Qatar to tell their friends in Gaza to stop the war and give back the hostages.”- the brilliant and eloquent @DouglasKMurray and Natasha Hausdorff at the @munkdebate “is Anti-Zionism Antisemitism”
Murray continues “If you protest for Palestinians, but didn't protest for the real genocide in Sudan , or didn't protest when Assad in Syria killed in a decade 6 times the number of people killed in all wars of Israel and its enemies during 75 years, you are an antisemite.”

Palestinian Muslims are freaking out after this Australian TV host completely destroyed their false narrative which always portrays Israel and Jews as the "aggressors" and the Muslim terrorists as "victims".
Please retweet if you agree with every single word he said!

A long post but sadly needed.
When I am asked why I am so outspoken against hate and antisemitism, I have to pause for a moment because I’m not sure how anyone can be silent. Take a look at what happened just yesterday when families, children and participants at the @UJAWalk, became the direct target of vile antisemitic hatred.
Peaceful participants were met with cheers for Hamas and the glorification of terror, a masked mob of hate finding their way through a field behind the JCC building to terrorize families, openly threatening their lives, gleefully calling for the death of Jews, giving a $ “award” to anyone who can identify Jews marching in the walk, having children hold up signs with swastikas…the list goes on.
While I would normally not allow any space for their vile bigotry on my platform, it is important to highlight the dark and twisted reality of what we are fighting against and who we are fighting for. Allies, please step up. This fight cannot and must not rest on the Jewish community alone.
Immense gratitude to our police services who took swift action but this cannot become the norm in our country. The fact that such a heavy police presence was needed should be a stark reminder that by appeasing antisemitism and emboldening hate for 8 months, Canada has failed our Jewish community.
Yesterday will be remembered not for their hateful attempts to harass and intimidate but for the strength and resilience of the Jewish community standing together in peace, in hope and in unity. Hate will not win.

I have to say something right now because I won’t be able to live with myself if I don’t. For years, I spoke up for the people of Palestine and their right to self-determination and to live in peace. For years, nobody cared. For years, Iranians have spoken up against their terrorism and brutality at the hands of the IRGC. For years, nobody cared. For years I had felt we shared the same unnerving struggle, which is the world’s indifference to the loss of our lives. Over the past week, however, I’ve seen something that I’m ashamed to say I had never seen before and I can’t believe what it took for me to see it. When Jews are murdered, the world is not just indifferent. Instead, the world rejoices. It celebrates. This is a type of depravity no people should ever have to endure, especially given the barbaric history of persecution since time immemorial. To the Jewish community, you are my brothers and sisters. I am so sorry that I let you down. I am so sorry that you screamed about it for years and I didn’t hear you. I am so sorry I didn’t stand up with you. I am so sorry I pretended not to see the flagrant and hateful anti-semitism. But my eyes are open and I see you now. I hear you. I’m with you, and I promise to never let you down again.
