Sad to hear of the passing of sister Shuhada Sadaqat, also known as Sinéad O'Connor. She was a tender soul, may God, Most Merciful, grant her everlasting peace. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon - Verily we belong to God, and verily to Him do we return. 2:156

‘“Sustainability” has come to mean “making modern western capitalist technocratic society bullet-proof” - is that what we want to sustain? Instead I think we should be thinking about relationship - with nature, with each other, with God.’ - Paul Kingsnorth @seenunseenmag
“Historically the divine is at the centre of every culture… except this one. We’ve decided to pretend it’s not real. But that’s not going to work.” Paul Kingsnorth talks nature, God and his own unlikely conversion. Listen seenandunseen.com/podcast Watch youtu.be/dfWNMktE3xc

A final thought: however difficult the last few days have been, it simply doesn’t compare to having to flee your home from persecution or war to seek refuge in a land far away. It’s heartwarming to have seen the empathy towards their plight from so many of you. 3/4

A man wanting to jump off a bridge in London was talked down by strangers who held him for an hour until help arrived. Look at that grip. Look at the care, compassion, selflessness, and determination shown by strangers to a hurting human being. We need more of this in the world.

Many MH professionals will never demedicalise their language. Not because words like 'illness' 'disorder' 'psychopathology' accurately capture the nature of suffering, but because such symbols endow their practices with an aura of medical status & credibility. Language is power.

A beautiful poem from #donnaashworth. This is so hard early on in grief but offers hope that we can in time continue the love for for our child or sibling in a different way.💜
