Well done, Ladit @OfwonoOpondo! It's the sort of strange realities we live with in Uganda now: there FIVE youth MPs in the house, including a National Female Youth MP, but it is the MP for elderly person who had the courage to speak up against the abduction of 27-year-old @AloikinOpoloje.
I wonder if the MPs for the youth even saw a problem here, or were embarrassed at all. Also wonder if any of the "youthful" MPs wondered why they didn't speak for the last three weeks, but left this to O.O...
🇺🇬 VIDEO:
Older Persons Representative (Eastern) Ofwono Opondo, an NRM MP, asked whether it is now “the new law of the NRM” to lure a suspect to a police station for the military to arrest. He was citing activist Praise @AloikinOpoloje account that people who said they were from CMI took her and beat her in a van.
He asked Parliament to demand an explanation from the Minister of Defence, the Attorney General and the Minister of Internal Affairs.

This afternoon on the floor of Parliament, I sought temporary access to Hoima City Stadium for @KitarafcHoima to host its local games.
I also tabled evidence showing that Kitara Football Club has been paying revenue to the National Council of Sports (@NCSUganda1 ) for the use of the facility, yet the club continues to face resistance despite the continued failure to approve the Royals Park Butema.
In response, the Minister of State for Sports, Hon. @OgwangOgwang pledged to investigate the matter and establish whether the said payments were received by the government.
I remain committed to ensuring that our team gets the necessary support and access to facilities to continue promoting sports development both locally and internationally.

On the floor of Parliament this afternoon, Ofwono Opondo, the MP for Older Persons (Eastern Uganda), raised the issue of continued arbitrary arrests, abductions and torture of citizens by security forces.
He specifically cited the abduction of Praise Aloikin Opoloje about three weeks ago.
He wondered whether this was a new law for the NRM.
What do you think about this?👇🏽Bravo young lady👏🏽. Responsibility is a value that protects dignity🙏🏽

An entire generation of Christians has been taught that God no longer performs miracles, heals the sick, or desires to see His people prosper. But God has so much more for us than simply waiting for heaven[SW3.1]. The Christian life is meant to be one of victory and power as we step out in faith and receive all that God has provided.

No doubt this is a tough question for anyone associated with a gang abducting & torturing people. Even then, I thought the PLU Secretary General was a bit more intelligent - mostly because he kept his mouth shut. Damn, one can look humble & still be as dumb as a box of rocks!

If a child’s lineage and clan identity are determined entirely by the Father, why should it matter whether the Omukama (King) marries a Mukiga, an Atesot, or anyone else not from Tooro?
Logically, the child of Omukama is 100% royal, regardless of the mother's background. Yet, traditionalists still weaponize ethnic purity when it comes to the King's marriage, exposing a massive double standard.
If the Child/Prince/ future King is raised to love, respect, and speak the language of his Kingdom, his mother's roots should be celebrated as a bridge of national unity, not treated as a disqualifier.
It’s time for our cultural practices to catch up with logic and modern reality.

I have always demanded quality concrete and proper construction standards from Chinese contractors in Kampala. Today, I asked a simple question: would they build the same standard in their own country? “Kampala Yetaaga Engineer” this is exactly what I meant.

Listening to a state witness in a very important case, leaves me flabbergasted. How can the state bring to court a witness that debunks its own case?
