Really want to emphasize this point. EdWeek management is characterizing employees who have dedicated large portions of their careers to the company as belonging to a "national third party."
This is insulting, and not consistent with our collegial and supportive culture.

This afternoon, EdWeek staff received an email from our CEO, @michelejgivens, with the subject line “A Labor Day weekend message.” She says a union is right for other places but not for EdWeek, and that the union belongs to a “national third-party.” We know this isn’t true. (1/4)

EdWeek is filled with talent. Will always look back at the 2 yrs I spent there fondly. The staff is dedicated to covering K-12 ed - which shapes us all. Sad to see management fail to voluntary recognize the union but standing in solidarity with a newsroom that taught me so much
