URGENT — SYRIA Following reports of a new armed assault on Al-Suqaylabiyah, an Antiochian Greek Orthodox Christian city in central Syria, Fr. Fadi Sankari issued an urgent appeal to residents. “No one has the right to enter your homes or threaten your safety and dignity.” He called on residents to remain united, protect women, children and the elderly, and avoid revenge and further violence. He also called on the authorities to protect civilians, restore security and uphold the rule of law. This comes amid what local residents describe as the fourth attack on Al-Suqaylabiyah since Ahmad al-Sharaa took power.
