China going full speed, many killers in here and lots of great time spent in person. 🇨🇳 dinner with @mrbrandowner and his partner @der_remo at the suite last night in Shanghai. They both great guys and true G. full of sauces exchanged, great convos, also met with Jackie from Sendr, his vision impressed a lot too… all of us building and playing hard, and great to sit face to face and share learnings in the deepest level (nahh sorry you cannot get that from Google Meets or discord) Being ahead of the game is inevitable if you surround yourself with right friends Letss gooo 🤝🤌

had dinner with a 14m/mo dtc operator in shanghai last week. 2 brands, 6 years in. killer operator, super humble guy. asked him what actually moved the needle. wasn’t ads. wasn’t another dialed funnel. product. said it flipped the day he stopped emailing his supplier and started flying out. kinda hit me. cause thats where we’ve been stuck. for 14 months our product was fine. not bad, not great. just whatever showed up. last couple months i’d been ordering products from 10+ nine fig brands. just to hold them, unbox them, feel the difference. the gap was obvious once you put them next to ours. ideas started popping immediately. spent the last few days at the factory with all that in my head. found a way to make it feel more premium, better packaging, way better unboxing, without adding crazy weight or blowing up cost. brand started feeling like a brand the second i stopped treating the supplier like just a vendor. wild watching a shopify store slowly turn into something real. go meet your supplier. thank me later 🤝

One member of the culture left the train successfully 🤌 Kudos Huel team @huel
BREAKING: French consumer goods group Danone has agreed to acquire Huel, the UK producer of milkshake-style meal replacements, for €1bn. Danone Chief Executive Antoine de Saint-Affrique said: "Huel was a 'great brand and smack on where the consumer is going'. Huel’s largest shareholders are founder Julian Hearn, London-based venture capital firm Highland Europe and Morgan Stanley, which invested in November 2023 through its climate-focused private equity fund 1GT.

I started to feel all these LP stuff on Manus is getting too hyped Since fully functional stuff is tricky and needs lots of iteration. Copy and images need to be generated separately, tested, refined. There are already great templates you can launch in minutes. Nobody's pulling off a Primal Queen style lander with it. Not yet.

For the culture to shout out Nick It only takes a 45secs to inhale this bad boy 400 calories of liquid chewing takes too much time between scaling budgets and muscle gains. 🍼 Jk 🤣 (Huel is the OG and similarity bween Cadence also interesting, who was the first 🤔)

Reading Eugene again for road to 1M to 5M/mo Just dialled in for good vibes and bigger goals 👀 This week met bunch of high performer ecom operators in Dubai, and the common theme for all of us is the same; - 🏎️ SPEED >> - Delegating as much as we can with right KPIs and incentives - Exchanging sauces and experiences among close circle of friends Hope all Gulf tension will settle down soon, and all focus will be on the game again for those in the region 🇦🇪 Have a great weekend all!! Let’s printtt #ecom

Black Friday Play from 8 figs brand Kitty Spout 🐈‍⬛dropping BF mails every 30 mins from different names with same offer (10% OFF) They sent 10+ emails since morning. That’s how aggressive brands plays BF games to push +200k/d with their crazy email lists (1M ppl in the list i believe and they probably spend multi 5 figs on Klaviyo) This is the how you want to push as A level operator (Icon Amsterdam also do this very successfully) #ecom #blackfriday

Your favourite guru told you to scale to $100K+ today by doubling budget every 2 hours?” 😳 Black Friday hype for the exact day specific just doesn’t make sense anymore. Consumers have maybe $200–$300 of “extra” money to spend, and we’ve all been trying to take it since mid-October with “early BF” pushes. So expecting today to suddenly explode is unrealistic. Yes, maybe there’s a 20–30% lift in intent. But unless you’ve got a VIP list or 100k+ engaged subscribers, you’re not getting a real spike without burning margins to the ground. Platforms alone won’t magically scale you to six figures — no matter what the “scale gurus” say. And customers aren’t stupid. They know the discounts aren’t real. Nobody’s doing 70% off. It’s mostly 10–15% dressed up as something bigger. Happy to hear if anyone sees this differently, but this is what the market feels like.
