@EPercher on post-pandemic #telehealth. Looking beyond public $TDOC & $AMWL to telehealth vendors likely to enter public markets soon, EMR vendors with native telehealth, physician enablement co's with telehealth, & teleconferencing software providers. bit.ly/3upb4Km

With #COVID19 vaccination timeline now at ~7 weeks & est. ~5 weeks to see some impact, we show case trends vs vaccinations for Israel and the UK (furthest along), juxtaposed against France (less so) - early for cause/effect, but case data improving with higher vaccination rates.

- Optimist: #COVID19 Winter surge may have peaked the week of Jan 14th and the decline in % pos was significant
-Realist: 12.0% pos. still one of the highest levels outside Dec. and Apr.
- Pessimist: More contagious variants could lead us higher in Feb. and Mar.

The next era of healthcare will be defined by the trend of #physicianenablement. We see the management of health, with the physician at the center leading to: better outcomes, lower costs and higher patient/provider satisfaction. bit.ly/3p4RS1t

The Midwest finally peaks.
The South and the West get worse.
Remember we are looking at a picture that lags by a week and it takes a few weeks between action and the curve turning.

Thanks @DrugChannels - extra points for making it all the way to figure 43. #340B profit pools = nuanced + complex for sure. More @NephronResearch

Midwest stands alone but may be inflecting lower. Weekly #COVID19 % pos. in the MW cont. to exceed the % pos. of all other US regions @ 18.4% - exceeds 2nd wave spike in Italy/UK. Growth is slowing but at a far more modest rate than Italy and the UK.

#COVID19 case progression & density: Most recent surge shows clear concentration in Midwest and plains states. Putting ND count of 8,656 cases/100K in perspective, its 3x the per capita # in NY. If NY had 8,656/100K the state would have a total of 1.7mm cases to date.

Hmh. Maybe we need to go back to talking about US drug prices rather than trying to import our way around the problem?
No private companies bid on Florida and @RonDeSantisFL plan to import drugs from Canada. Bids for the $30 million state contract were due in Sept. khn.org/MTE5ODE0Mg via @khnews

For the first time since April, all four regions of the U.S. are moving in parallel, experiencing an expansion in #COVID19 progression, though the absolute level of cases varies widely from region to region.

FYI, the original source was last week's @NephronResearch symposium. It was confirmed to me directly (and on the record) by a spokesperson from @Prime_PBM .

FYI via @NephronResearch re: logistics/channel issues for #COVID19 #vaccines
@pfizer / @BioNTech_Group / @Merck = ultra-low temp (-70C) = #hospitals & other medical settings
@moderna_tx = freezer temp (-20C) = physician offices & #pharmacies (but colder than std refrigeration)
