Pos. signs in recent #COVID19 case data, vaccines (hopefully) having an impact, and a meaningful # of Americans have been infected with #COVID19 at this point. This week @jack_m_meehan took a look at what this means for the testing market going forward. bit.ly/3bkyyYn
#COVID19 cases continue to drop faster than testing - a clear pos. for progression. 6th consec. week w/ a decline in the national pos. rate, after reaching a high of 13.3% for the week ended Jan. 6th. Weekly pos. rate has now fallen to its lowest level since late Oct. - TGIF.
Over last month, states that showed most improvement in daily hospitalizations also showed strong correlation to changes in total number of #COVID19 daily vaccines administered. Appears strongest for the top 10 states with hospitalization improvement, demonstrated by an R2=0.84

Astounding.
Time for proper regulations, don't ya think?
With #COVID19 vaccination timeline now at ~7 weeks & est. ~5 weeks to see some impact, we show case trends vs vaccinations for Israel and the UK (furthest along), juxtaposed against France (less so) - early for cause/effect, but case data improving with higher vaccination rates.
Despite recent progress, since end Oct. US #COVID19 cases +172% vs. global +116%. In Oct., US had ~20% of the cum. cases w/w. That cum. % has now risen to 25%. US on pace in Jan. '21 for 6.2mm cases, almost matching the record monthly cases seen in Dec. (6.4mm) - global similar
- Optimist: #COVID19 Winter surge may have peaked the week of Jan 14th and the decline in % pos was significant
-Realist: 12.0% pos. still one of the highest levels outside Dec. and Apr.
- Pessimist: More contagious variants could lead us higher in Feb. and Mar.
The next era of healthcare will be defined by the trend of #physicianenablement. We see the management of health, with the physician at the center leading to: better outcomes, lower costs and higher patient/provider satisfaction. bit.ly/3p4RS1t

Looking beyond Sunday's omnibus pkg and #COVID19 relief deal, Nephron's @jack_m_meehan looks for hints on @Transition46 plans for testing. @RockefellerFdn work prioritizing schools/nursing homes and showing 3 scenarios requiring 3-6mm tests/day reportedly tracks closely.
