For everyone talking about Venezuelan crude and the SPR: No source said it will go directly into the SPR, just that it will be used to refill the SPR. More than likely: it will be a swap with refiners/marketers in exchange for light and mediums. The SPR has quality guidelines requiring greater than ~27 API

Everyone is misinterpreting this announcement. VZ crude can’t go into the SPR directly, but it can be used to fill the SPR by swapping with Refiners/marketers for lights and mediums
