When I held my Energy Affordability Town Hall, some constituents told me they were paying more than $1,000 per month to heat their homes. Now the seasons have changed, but the high cost of energy hasn't. In fact, starting this month, the One Big Beautiful Bill eliminates clean energy tax credits, meaning costs will climb even higher. Energy bills are painfully unaffordable, and this Republican budget is the opposite of what we need. spotlightpa.org/news/2026/06…

Bad: The Trump Admin is leaving taxpayers on the hook for capping abandoned wells—hugely expensive and hugely damaging to our health. Worse: the Trump Admin is eliminating efforts to reduce pollution from methane—a super polluter that over 20-years traps 80x as much heat, ounce per ounce, as carbon dioxide. nytimes.com/2026/06/22/clima…

Energy costs are a top tier issue for voters right now. Thank you, @RoyCooperNC, not just for your leadership on clean energy, but for showing candidates everywhere how to make headway with voters when their opponents aren’t on the side of the people paying the bills.
I oppose the Duke Energy rate hikes. Michael Whatley has the opportunity to do the same and refuses.

The Trump Administration is putting its foot on the scale to kill solar and increase energy costs for Americans. Here’s how ⬇️

This should be a bigger story. A Reagan-appointed judge just ruled Trump’s Energy Secretary illegally ran a secret panel of climate deniers to cook up a biased report and sabotage clean air rules. They didn’t follow the law, didn’t follow the science, and betrayed the public to serve Trump’s agenda. Disgraceful. nytimes.com/2026/01/30/clima…

Curbing dangerous methane emissions is the fastest, most effective way to slow global warming. In 2021, President Biden signed my legislation to do just that. Delaying these requirements is equivalent to adding 25 million gas-powered cars to our roads. nytimes.com/2025/11/26/clima…

Northern Michigan continues to recover from the generational ice storm in March of 2025. In an attempt to cut costs, FEMA reimbursed part, but not all, of Michigan’s emergency request. The White House approved repairing roads and bridges, public buildings, and parks. But in a surprising move, they denied funding to reimburse our utilities. As you may remember, we had an enormous number of downed lines and polls, and our line workers did Herculean work to restore power to large chunks of the state. The Governor appealed this decision, which the bipartisan federal delegation supported. But in October, the Administration denied the appeal. And this is the result. We all understand cost-cutting, but shorting communities that have gone through one-in-a-generation natural disasters isn’t the place to look.

Oh look. Another way the Trump Admin is raising energy costs on middle class families.   Oil & gas companies want to spew and waste methane instead of controlling it. Why? Because it’s consumers like you who pay for the wasted energy – not them.   This is just another favor to Trump’s wealthy fossil fuel friends at Americans’ expense.

Oil & gas firms, energy industry orgs, & even a Republican Senator are breaking w/ the Trump admin over its latest climate rollback, urging the EPA to keep its Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program. Will the calls from the fossil fuel industry be enough? washingtonexaminer.com/polic…

The @EPA's Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program plays a key role in protecting America's public health, environment, scientific integrity, and economic growth. I'm leading nearly 30 of my colleagues in demanding EPA halt its plans to end this program. Learn more at the link in my bio.

.@POTUS’s decision to pause federal funding for Solar for All programs is a reckless attack on Nevada lives and livelihoods. By providing low interest financing for solar projects on homes, affordable housing units, and businesses, this program has expanded access to renewable energy across our State, created good paying jobs, and is expected to reduce electric bills by 20 percent for disadvantaged communities. We cannot afford for this critical lifeline to be taken away. @NVEnviroJustice @AaronDFordNV

The White House is offering “concierge, white glove service” to oil, coal and other fossil fuel companies that are seeking to gain fast approval for their projects, according to an energy official, while slowing down or blocking solar and wind projects. wapo.st/4nNYakI

Donald Trump is attacking wind energy for no reason. He is killing an industry, destroying thousands of jobs, and making energy more expensive. Just stupid, stupid, stupid.
