After voyeuristically consuming the trans masc lesbian discourse on my feed, I feel compelled to conclude from my sexology armchair that for many AFAB people, their andromimetophilia is genuinely rooted in gynephilia. The alternative explanations are... odd

BC Liberals/United: Refuses proportional representation after 57.7% support in '05, campaigns against it in '18. Collapses. CAQ: Reneges on PR promise. Loses every seat. The lesson on short-term cynicism is clear: implement PR when you can, or get consumed by the status quo.

I think if right wing guys would just say they don’t like Indian immigrants for religious or racist reasons that would be a lot better than continuing down this course of developing an ideology that says working hard and doing well in school are bad.

My 2 married sisters married intrafaith, but interethnic
Half the weddings I attend for people my age are interracial ones, also many interethnic and interreligious ones. This will be one of the defining demographic trends for 21st century Canada.

What an utterly abhorrent, morally repulsive tragedy. If certain US states refuse to join most of the rest of the developed world im abolishing capital punishment, then they should drop the pretense of civility, and use bullets.
Lastly, because I am tired of answering questions about Christa Pike: Right now, the doctors are technically just keeping her alive to resolve the crisis rather than providing standard medical recovery. At the emergency department of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, the doctors' role is strictly mechanical stabilization rather than reversing or "fixing" her condition, because there is no antidote to undo what is in her system. • Preventing System Collapse: Because they cannot remove the drug from her tissues, the emergency team is using machines (ventilators and heavy IV blood pressure medications) to manually force her body to function. They are preventing her lungs from collapsing and her heart from failing under the weight of the pentobarbital. • A Holding Action for the Body: This is a waiting game. The machines are holding her body in a stable, living state solely to give her liver and kidneys time to naturally break down and filter out the execution-grade chemicals over the next few days. • The Legal Duty: Legally, the hospital is required to treat her as an emergency overdose patient. However, because she remains under the heavy armed guard of the Tennessee Department of Correction, once she is medically stabilized, she will be returned to state custody. In short, they are keeping her body functioning mechanically because they cannot chemically "save" her from the dose—they can only keep her alive while the drug slowly runs its course. if she survives, a vegetative state or severe, permanent brain damage is the most likely medical outcome. Because she spent more than 40 minutes inside the execution chamber audibly snoring after receiving two full doses of pentobarbital, medical specialists highlight that severe brain injury is almost a certainty: • Anoxic Brain Injury (Oxygen Starvation): The "snoring" witnessed was a sign of severe upper airway obstruction caused by the massive dose of central nervous system depressants. If her breathing was restricted or entirely stopped for a prolonged period before she was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and placed on a mechanical ventilator, her brain cells would have begun rapidly dying from lack of oxygen. • Irreversible Cortical Damage: Hypoxia aggressively destroys the cerebral cortex—the part of the brain responsible for conscious thought, memory, emotion, and language. While life support can keep her heart beating and her lungs expanding mechanically, it cannot regenerate dead brain tissue. • Persistent Vegetative State: If the damage to her cortex is total but her brainstem (which controls basic functions like eye-opening and sleep cycles) survived, she will transition into a permanent vegetative state. Medical teams will keep her mechanically supported for several days. However, the reality is that the machines are likely maintaining a body whose higher cognitive brain functions have already been destroyed by the prolonged trauma of the overdose.

This one was fun. Because it's adaptive, most of the test is right at your level of ability, so it's neither boring nor overly challe ging (though I will say that a few of the hardest ones I was entirely guessing) taketest.xyz/vocab-cat

If you're going to eat meat, you should avoid eating conventional broiler chickens. They are the most populous land vertebrates in the world, yet they live hellish lives.
A new study (Li et al., 2026) recommends giving chickens just 2 hours of darkness nightly to maximize the time they spend eating. The study and photo are Chinese. But the idea is American: US chicken producers pioneered sleep restriction to keep their birds eating around the clock. We know chickens have far better welfare with 7–8 hours of darkness to sleep. Their ancestors, the red junglefowl, naturally sleep 12 hours a night. Today the US industry gives most birds just 4 hours of intermittent darkness. Will they now drop that to 2? Don't count on them considering what the birds need.

love that ironic detachment is the main cultural currency online so even when you are moved by a tragic story you have to be like “hey look im not some sorta guy who has empathy or nothin”

No hate, but ???
[Fourth-Wall Break] Because many have been asking the l about how I’ll be covering September 11, I’ve put together a Frequently Asked Questions list. I’m pinning it until that day. Please refer to this for your questions and feel free to ask more. Q: How many posts do you have planned for the event? At present, about 410, or one every three minutes for the entire day, though there will be an average of two posts a minute between 8:46 and 10:30. It is my earnest hope that the account doesn’t get suspended for spamming at the very beginning. I hope someone from X is reading this. Q: Is the posting going to be in real-time? Yes. I worked very hard to learn the exact minute and if possible, the precise second that events occurred on 9/11, and I will post at those exact moments. It will be a completely real-time retelling of the day. Q: Do you/Will you schedule posts? No. Automation is impersonal and unnatural. On these accounts I’ve always manually written the posts as I’m posting them, and 9/11 is no exception to the rule. Q: Are you posting alone, or do you have a team? All alone. Have been doing this alone for years. It’s a lot of effort. Q: Will you be showing sensitive content? No. I had the option to and I decided against it. Graphic photos and video exist, but it would be disrespectful to the victims to show it. You’re welcome to look it up for yourself. Q: How did you do your research? I watched 240 hours of video footage, from news reporting to on-the-ground stringers to eyewitness testimony to academic documentas, with the intent to form the most accurate-possible timeline of the event. I also had people professionally associated with and familiar with the event provide their own research, which was helpful. I did my very best to corroborate stories for accuracy and gather every possible detail of the day, and I hope that my work was adequate. Q: Will you be including any conspiracy theories? I don’t entertain the conspiracy theories. From my research, I have developed what I believe is the most accurate picture of what happened, and it’s straightforward and logical. There was no conspiracy related to the September 11 attacks. Those who seriously entertain conspiracy theories in the comments will be blocked. Q: Why do this much? Do you have a personal connection to 9/11? None. I was too young to remember it. I’m doing this because this is what I’ve done on these live history accounts since 2018.  Q: Was this the whole point of the account? No. I started this account in “1997” (2022) with the intent to report world news, and that’s what I’ve done for nearly five years. It was not the intent of the account, or I would’ve done thousands of hours of research and posted tens of thousands of unrelated stories just to set up one day. Q: But it seems like all your posts are 9/11 foreshadowing lately. Fewer than 1 in 10 of my posts has had any relation to 9/11. I’m insulted when people insinuate that “the account only posts about 9/11.” It’s a gross exaggeration.  Q: Will the account continue afterwards? Yes, indefinitely. I’m excited to cover the 2000s and the 2010s. I hope that you all stick around for it. Q: Won’t you make loads of money off this, a tragedy? Probably not. Last month, X decided to permanently suspend its creator monetization program and replace it with another program. I have not yet applied for the new program, and 9/11 will not be monetized. I am doing this as a passion project and because I love history and have been live-posting history for eight years - long before I was ever paid to do so. If I do end up being monetized for this day, I’ve had ethical qualms. Earlier this year I decided to donate all the money I made off my posts on September 11, 2026. If I make any money off this, I will do that and post receipts. I encourage you also to donate to the charity of your choice. This was a tragic event and funds deserve to go to the victims of the tragedy and rememberance of it.

People like this constantly like to opine about Iranians are so assimilated, and educated, and westernized. Now a lot of that is true, but somehow they're also blind to the fact that being colorist might the trashiest, third-world-esque behaviour ever
