#MedalMonday for the @RunThroughUK Ladybower Ultra on Saturday (my first!). A friend transferred their place to me relatively late on so I had less time to prepare than I'd like, but it was an amazing experience and I'm already excited about the next stupid running challenge!

The recording from my EpIC seminar earlier this month is up! Have a watch if you'd like to learn about our work identifying novel inhibitors of the KNa1.1 potassium ion channel - my mum watched the first 5 minutes and said that bit was pretty good. youtube.com/watch?v=5v9szCk4…

Ran into work this morning so I'm enjoying the huge endorphin boost before inevitably crashing and falling asleep at my desk at lunch

I am one of the first wave of postdocs to be put onto one of the university's ongoing contracts. Today I had an email about my initial consultancy meeting with the word 'redundant' in it four times, so seems like it's going great so far.

Not to be all woe is me; I know I'm fortunate to be able to do work I'm passionate about with an incredible team. It's just very tiring sometimes.

Neither rain nor snow nor glom of nit can stay these scientists about their outreach - we had a great (if tiring) day at Child Friendly Leeds! #ScienceOutreach #PublicEngagement
Leeds may be doing a good impression of monsoon season today but we're still in Millennium square ready to chat about cells! @DrEmilyCaseley @IzzieJGibson @Child_Leeds @breeze
