We freerange our breeding group of Orpingtons in our orchard. We go out of our way to provide things to keep the chickens interested. These ladders leaning against one of the cherry trees provides the perfect "Jungle Gym" for the chicks. It's also fun to watch them.

We lost Audrey our 12 year old Cream Legbar a couple of years ago and I miss blue eggs. Think we need a blue egg layer and a really dark brown from a Marans It’s been so long that I’ve bought pullets - where have you bought birds from recently?

I’ve not worked in a poultry shop for a few years so not sure what’s around now Looking for a new drinker, large volume that you fill with a watering can from the top - not a twist off and flip upside down job - any recommendations please?

Your description of Flybe meant she just had to be a Cream Legbar!

RIP Flybe Hatched in my uni room on 27th May 2012 so at 11 she was a cracking age. Mom named her Flybe because she was always escaping. She was pretty independent, stupidly tame, frequently broody so hatched lots of chicks in her years and still laid the occasional egg this year!
