I'm seeing this happen as well. Doing application development effectively with AI takes a lot of knowledge.
This paper gives a fancy name to a problem you can already feel in your bones
"The Tragedy of the Cognitive Commons." Checking AI output requires deep expertise. Deep expertise comes from doing grunt work for years. And grunt work is the first thing AI eats
So we're building systems that need expert supervision while dismantling the only known process for making experts
The paper calls the shared pool of human expertise the "cognitive commons." Every profession drinks from it. Nobody's refilling it.
By eliminating junior roles, each company is acting totally rationally, and the collective result: a profession that can't catch AI's mistakes anymore because it never learned to do the work in the first place
Who checks AI's homework in 15 years?

Dangerous day of severe weather risk in central Alberta today...
A good day to stay weather aware, pay attention to warnings, and keep an eye on the sky.
Places like Edson, Drayton, Whitecourt, Mayerthorpe, Stony Plain, Barrhead...and the Edmonton region.
Heads up! #abstorm

It has been nearly a week since Parker was reported missing.
Since day one, our officers, specialized units & volunteer search & rescue partners have worked tirelessly, searching by land, air & water in every effort to bring Parker home. Despite these extensive searches, Parker remains missing.
📢 We are asking the community for continued assistance. Please take a few moments to thoroughly check your property, including yards, sheds, garages, vehicles & basements; anywhere someone could potentially seek shelter or remain unnoticed.
If you know an elderly neighbour or someone who may need assistance, please help them check their property as well. We also ask realtors, landlords & property management companies to inspect vacant homes, rental units & other unoccupied properties.
Every search matters.
❤️ Please keep Parker & his family in your thoughts as we continue working together to find him & bring him home.

Hot take: writers and video editors should not be compared.
There’s a reason why the greatest CEOs and investors take time to write memos and shareholder letters. Writing is thinking. And the better the writing is, the better everything else becomes.

Most teams think execution is about writing code. But it's really about making decisions. The best engineers aren't the fastest coders, they're the clearest thinkers.
