It’s a year today that we lost our founder, inventor and leader. Still hard to believe. We honored Matt by snapping a pic with his infamous red toolbox of tools that we carry along with us and use. We reflect on the astounding impact he made in Ag & like to believe he’d be proud.

The comparison between grain bin safety and stress management is powerful. The most valuable asset on the farm is you. Always go with somebody else and have a lifeline. Family, friends, fellow farmers, faith-based resources, professional services can be that lifeline.

Two great agronomy talks today at Central KS District 4-H Club Day. Charlotte demonstrated the importance of stable soil aggregates and Andrew talked about the unique functions of each part of a plant. I promise they picked the topics themselves! #prouddad #blueribbons @Kansas4H

I never thought I'd hear a scientist who works for a chemical company saying we have to look at something besides herbicides to kill weeds, but he's dead-on in the case of #waterhemp. Nixing weeds from going to seed will be key.

Met with a guy today that told me
“We don’t have the best cows, but we have good cows. And we don’t always have the best yields, but we have good yields. And we spend less money than the guys with top dollar shit and that’s why we’re still here”

I was at the Summit last week and listened to Townsend in the panel as well as his breakout session. It was good to see @McDonalds engaged in the conversation with farmers. When I approached him after his talks he listened attentively to my questions and was easy to visit with.
Are "sustainability" and "soil health" mere buzzwords for corporate America, or is @McDonalds walking the walk? The company's director of sustainability spoke at #SoilSummit19 last week and we caught up with him afterwards. @SuccessfulFarm @SoilPartners
