Not a political statement but I would love to review #leadershiplessons from the current provincial and national scenes with administrators and teachers. Relating the current directions and decisions and comparing them to the educational world would create lively conversation🤔 – at Edmonton, Alberta

What a pleasure it was to work with @orangelid for six plus years. Hardworking is an understatement for his hours and dedication to @fmpsd Phil always mixed his sense of humor with the serious work at hand. I absolutely loved working with Phil in every way. What a team player. – at Bow Island, Alberta

Over 400 schools with active Covid cases and have I missed the announcement that school staff will be vaccinated asap? Well at least there is a new curriculum to motivate them through perilous times. Thank you to our teaching and support staff for being there for kids. Incredible – at Edmonton, Alberta

When a leader loses "the room" as in the province, it is a series of decisions+actions that erode trust+ confidence. #leadershiplessons are clear including collaboration, need for change, integrity, and a shared vision. Without those, positional power is likely to be short-lived – at Bow Island, Alberta

My daughters and their husbands have joined us in Arizona for Christmas/New Year's since 2008. This year not only was AZ out so was a family celebration in Alberta. If only we had purchased our house 17 years ago 🤔 @jkenney @Drew__Barnes @HayRoberta @superninjendo – at Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia

School secretaries play such an important role in schools. Some stay in their position 25+ years and are truly the foundation of the school. No one knows the students and parents better than the secretary who has been the face of the school for two decades plus #leadershiplessons – at East Kootenay G, British Columbia

Two weekends ago I was reminiscing with my husband about fun options in Junior High. I raved about how great Mr. Smith was, and how silk screen fails in IA and ski trips to Fernie were some of the highlights of my awkward teenage years in ‘96-99. Congrats Mr. Smith!
The new principal's mandate was change. He asked first, listened, built relationships, supported, and found dollars. He was the #1 cheerleader for the school. He understood results. Highly visible during and after the school day, we worked with him not for him #leadershiplessons – at Bow Island, Alberta

Now in his 80s, students from the last 50 years ago still stay in touch with him. Why? He was traditional and "old school" but was strong in relationships, curriculum, and emphasized results. He communicated with parents and coached. He knew his kids. #lessonslearned – at East Kootenay G, British Columbia

In 40 years in education, there were many incredible leaders in the districts where I worked. I will be highlighting some of their successes in the months ahead. Regardless of your position or career path, do you share some of their skills or passion? #leadershiplessons – at East Kootenay G, British Columbia

As the school year begins, I am returning to Twitter. I have been extremely fortunate to have worked with highly effective teams in 40 years in education. Twenty of those years as a Superintendent allowed me to see some incredible leadership. Examples to follow. – at Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia
