After living in China, I can tell you 2 things: 1) it is incredibly easy for the virus to spread. 10 of 1000's/km living in urban areas. No detached homes; all high rise and low rise app'ts. 2) the numbers are understated. This is serious...

David Eby does not need an election to govern. He has a majority. He can pass his bills tomorrow if he wants to. What he wants today is four more years before British Columbians have had a fair look at the bill for nine years of NDP government.
This is a waste of taxpayer money. Tens of millions of dollars to send people to the polls two years early so a premier can freeze a map that already works for him. Families in this province are paying more for housing, power, food, and ferries. They did not ask for a $90-million vanity campaign dressed up as standing up to Donald Trump.
I have accepted Lorne Doerkson’s invitation to come back to caucus. My time as leader is over. My service to this province is not. We are ready. We will be on the doorstep. We will put the record on the table: deficits, downgrades, empty promises, and a government that lectures the public while it calls an election it does not need.
The electorate will not take kindly to this kind of grift. British Columbians know the difference between a mandate and a head start. If Eby drops the writ today, he is telling every voter the same thing. He does not trust you with two more years of his record. He only trusts you when the calendar is short.
We are not going anywhere. Get ready.

A few reflections heading home from the Bills game tonight as a Canadian. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🏈
There is a lot of noise in the Canada-U.S. relationship right now. Trade fights, tariffs, political rhetoric and plenty of frustration on both sides of the border.
But then you spend a night in Buffalo.
Canadians and Americans tailgating together. Singing both anthems. Cheering for the same team. Talking football, families and life. Nobody asking who won the latest political argument.
It is a good reminder that our relationship is much bigger than whoever happens to occupy political office at any particular moment.
We share communities, businesses, friendships, families, sports and a border that has connected us for generations.
Governments will disagree. We should stand up for our respective interests when they do.
But we shouldn’t lose sight of each other in the process.
Tonight felt like a reminder of that.
Break tables, not relationships. 🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸

One of the most jarring things about adulthood is the realization of how many truly incompetent people are in the most important jobs. When I was a kid, I just assumed everyone “important” was smart or they wouldn’t be important. Boy, was that fucking wrong.
Now that Canada is out of #worldcupknockout, I no longer need to endure the theatrics (every two minutes) of players acting like they have been mortally wounded only to join the play a minute later... although I will probably watch Mexico vs. England...😀

The easiest way to stand out:
-Show up prepared
-Bring energy
-Have a positive attitude
-Give maximum effort
-Keep learning
None of these require talent.

I don’t know why everyone is worried about the LNG market. Canada is HERE TO BACKFILL QATAR’S LOST VOLUMES.
If we start today, and work all-out around the clock, in just a FEW SHORT YEARS Canada can confidently deliver a preliminary environmental impact assessment. After that it’ll just be a couple of hundred weeks before the indigenous consulting is complete after which the ascension to final decision by the federal environment minister can take place.
When the federal agencies make their decisions, we can FINALLY BEGIN provincial permitting. This won’t take long, and once provincial permitting is complete we just have to execute a short 5 year ecosystem monitoring study. After that, when we submit final plans to the provincial government, we should be GOOD TO GO AHEAD AND BUILD a very comprehensive community information pamphlet for the mandatory 720 day public comment period.
When the public comment period is complete, and the final investment decision is reached, it’ll be SHOVELS IN THE GROUND on the local fencing needed to secure the site for 2 years to give migratory species enough time to change their patterns.
Once migration patterns are changed, and the final hazardous emissions diffusion studies are complete, the community is consulted, and all permits are obtained, CONSTRUCTION WILL BE UNDERWAY on the monitoring systems needed to ensure that no local Salmon population feel personally slighted by any new infrastructure.
While this sounds like an arduous process, it’s TOTALLY necessary to ensure Canada remains carbon-competitive. Have no fear all those that may be unable to heat their homes in a few short weeks, Canada is here to deliver ENERGY SECURITY TO THE WORLD… unless it impacts the livelihood of one single snail, then you’re on your own kid.

This is a brilliant economic analysis of Trump’s nonsensical tariffs as they unfairly apply to Canada. Bravo Scott Galloway. 👏
