End of the Summer Reading Challenge A huge thank you to @dorkinglibrary for inviting me to be the special guest Author for the celebrations! 📚✨ I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my interactive storytelling of A Fearsome Flutter at the Natural History Museum 🐦🏛️. We also recommend checking out Book Club Hub from the @readingagency (bookclubhub.co.uk) as it is full of latest book news, other clubs’ recommendations and exciting giveaways to win books for your book club! Big thank you to @DorkingLibrary for the video and this post! More information about reading groups at Surrey Libraries: surreycc.gov.uk/libraries/ne… #BookClubDayUK [Video desciption: The video opens with a view from behind a row of books on a shelf. A librarian picks up a book and smiles warmly at the camera. In the next clip, she’s seated on a comfy library chair, reading the book she picked up in the previous clip. The third shot returns to the shelves, where she chooses another book. The next clip is a slow pan view of the shelves, with stacked reading group reservations. In the next scene, the librarian holds up 15 copies of fiction title My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan, then 10 copies of the nonfiction title Strong Female Character by Fern Brady. The video then shifts to a tabletop display featuring the Discover Libraries Open Roads promotion. A person off-screen reaches in to pick up a book from it. The next scene features a Libraries Recommends table, showcasing multiple copies of titles available to borrow. A relaxed reading space with a coffee table and comfy chairs is shown next. The following clip starts with the camera pointing at the floor and being gradually lifted to reveal a bookshelf, while someone off-screen browses, picking up and putting back different books. The video ends with a slow pan view of True Libraries tabletop display showing different books in the promotion.]

🌼📚 I'm excited to share that I've received an invitation for my children’s event at Dorking Library! This year's Summer Reading Challenge theme is "Story Garden - Adventures in Nature and the Great Outdoors," celebrating the magical connection between storytelling and nature. 🌳✨ I can't wait to dive into the theme, where we’ll explore books and create Earth Heroes with recycling old… (now that would be telling, you’ll have to watch out for updates and buy yourself a ticket!) It’s going to be a fun and a creative way to inspire young minds and nurture a love for both reading and the environment. Join us for this amazing adventure with A Fearsome Flutter at The Natural History Museum, Book 2 in the Pigeon and Poppy Adventure series! 🌍💚 #DorkingLibrary #SummerReadingChallenge #StoryGarden #ChildrenEvents #EarthHeroes #RecyclingFun #NatureLovers @DorkingLibrary @SurreyLibraries @EmiraPress

Our colleague from @DorkingLibrary is making a book display for #LonelinessAwarenessWeek. Loneliness is a natural human emotion. By understanding it, we can help ourselves and others manage the feeling, and find ways to feel more connected. Libraries are wonderful spaces for finding moments of connection. Our events, activities, resources, and volunteering opportunities are just some of the things to get you started. Let's keep #MeetingLonelinessTogether 💜
