It's true! I'm gutted to have left the brilliant team at @labourunionsuk and I have huge shoes to fill at ASLEF, but I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into this role and working hard to get the very best for our train drivers and our railway 🚄✊🌹

This disgraceful act took place just days after the murder of a senior politician, the third of my colleagues in a decade.
It is a shared responsibility of all of us in our democracy to call out and condemn violence and threats against politicians.
I hope the Green Party leadership takes appropriate action this time.

Today's Royal Assent for the steel nationalisation bill is huge.
Ministers have saved the UK steel industry.
Now we need commitments to buy British for public infrastructure.
And we need a worker voice on the board of the new nationalised company - to keep British steel alive.

Just as a matter of language, don't you think turning 'encourage' into 'expects' is a tiny bit unfair?
