If you pay a single cent to this crooked, corrupt, morally bankrupt, disgusting organisation, you are part of the problem.
There is a moral duty not to pay the TV licence.

Minister for Health just said on Newstalk that the health service is underutilising healthcare workers. I really don’t think the NCHDs doing 24 hour shifts, & 70+ hour weeks, feel underutilised

The first National NCHD Survey launched last week. Designed & delivered by key policy makers within the HSE, you will have your opinions heard regarding clinical education & training for doctors in Ireland. Confidential responses. Take the survey: tinyurl.com/NCHDSurveyT @NLNCHD

It's a hard thing to explain, the contempt I used to feel towards the health service for how it would treat doctors. To be brazenly rostered for illegal working hours, not paid correctly, left on emergency tax etc all the while knowing the system was utterly reliant on us.
Replying to @DrBrianHiggins
Irish doctors over the years prioritised patient care above all else in their lives but the thanks for that has been villification by the media and contempt by the health service.
This has to change before there's a permanent cultural shift with lasting consequences for patients

Anyone remember when @IMO_IRL had an overwhelming ballot for strike action for these very reasons but the HSE agreed they'd do better only for nothing to change?
It's just the same story time and again with a varying array of blustering excuses. @IMO_IRL should reballot.

Any public service, if it is to be of sufficient value and quality, needs societal buy in and protection. This means holding each other to high standards, to expect forensic evaluation of the use of public funds and, importantly, accountability for poor job performance.

500k cards x 2.8 appts = 1.4 million EXTRA appointments into GP a year.
For a full time GP this equates to an EXTRA session a week.
Options:
Stay late.
Offer shorter appts.
Spillover to OOH.
Attend ED.

Mum contacts falls clinic > told to contact physio> contacts physio> told she needs to contact GP to be referred to community physio for walking aid assessment> rings GP & holds for 1/2 hr & then gives up This all took a whole day with no resolution of issue No #integratedcare

A very sober IMO meeting about the future of GP in Ireland. The daft notions of the Government to 'introduce' (railroad) through free GP care for all without any form of planning is frankly quite disturbing and very worrying.
The people need to know that if this goes ahead /1

Today I checked my payslip to find 2 weeks pay has been deducted, for the 2 weeks I was off sick in January. This is wrong: the junior doctor contract says sick pay is 2 months full pay, 2 months half.
I’ll fight it.
But I am so so tired of fighting a new thing every week.

Will be very interesting to see how the HSE and hospitals report EWTD for NCHDs and consultants this winter.
I mean, I know they'll lie and claim 98% compliance or whatever other number they pull out of thin air, but I'll be impressed by how brazen the lying will be.

If I was a consultant and someone made a comment that they were relying on my "goodwill" to get them through a crisis, as if to suggest I hadn't already shown constant goodwill in abysmal conditions working well in excess of normal working hours over the years, I would scream.
Prof. Alan Irvine spoke to @RTENewsatOne this afternoon, addressing comments made by Minister @donnellystephen. This is not a sustainable solution to the widespread issues in our health service that hamper our ability to provide the necessary patient care.

‘Senior doctors’ and ‘senior decision makers’ to be in hospital 7 days a week 🤯 This is ALWAYS the case. Either those working in the HSE don’t understand how the HSE actually works or they are deliberately trying to shift blame to staff irishtimes.com/health/2023/0…

Today is the 4th time in 3.5 months that the same person from HR rings my mobile to ask about my “suspiciously” long hours. As it turns out, if you only staff 2 interns for 60 acute patients, those 2 interns end up working (surprise surprise) 80-90 hours a week.
