Best of luck to all my new colleagues starting their careers today, and best of luck to all my colleagues changing over.

My response to inaccurate information which @IrishTimes published on #prostatecancer & #screening was not accepted in @ITletters. Given the gravity of publishing incorrect recommendations & the impact this has on men & front line GPs, it’s important to have the error documented.
Many medications 'in short supply', including some frequently used antibiotics and nebuliser solutions. HSE winter plan (or lack thereof) and hiring freeze....
Brace yourselves folks, Winter is definitely coming.
Honest question and not facetious to our pharmacy colleagues. I'm getting a lot of calls/messages lately regarding medication that is in 'short supply' and could I recommend an alternative...which I do..but are pharmacists not in a unique position to suggest/give an alternative.

Free AT POINT OF CARE!
These are the ANNUAL fees your GP Practice will get for providing 24/7 care for UNLIMITED appointments.
And we also PAY (5k) and WORK(200h) in OOH for the pleasure.
This is called capitation and with this fee we pay for ALL running costs of practice.

Good Luck 🤞
A very sober IMO meeting about the future of GP in Ireland. The daft notions of the Government to 'introduce' (railroad) through free GP care for all without any form of planning is frankly quite disturbing and very worrying.
The people need to know that if this goes ahead /1
as is, it will lead to a system not unlike the NHS GP service.
You will have long waits, reduced continuity of care, shorter consultations, reduced services and overall a far inferior service. /2
For those of you who feel the service is bad now, buckle up because its about to get a whole lot worse.
We ask however, that when you experience it first hand, remember to direct your frustrations to @HSELive , @DonnellyStephen @LeoVaradkar @MichealMartinTD
Phenomenal start to a show, very true to the game, salivating already for episode 2. Other streaming services need to take note,this...this is how you adapt a game for television. #TheLastOfUs #TheLastOfUsHBO
Honest question. Lockdown was initiated to limit the spread of a highly infectious disease and to prevent hospitals being overwhelmed. Health Service now faces unprecedented demands like never before...but no lockdown, no advice on social distancing etc. Why?
@DonnellyStephen
Dear Minister,
You're recent announcement to fast track the appointment of 50 ED consultants to ease the trolley crisis demonstrates you're complete lack of insight into how our health system works and the actual role of our colleagues in the ED.
Money at it is not going to solve the issue if its not going to the right place. Listen to the people on the ground and not the managerial sycophants who will tell you you're doing a great job. Truth be told the health service is unfit for purpose, frankly its an embarrassment
