It was a moment that millions had been waiting for, and @Delta went all out.
The airline flew two sold-out path-of-totality flights from Texas to Detroit on Monday, and I was lucky to snag a window seat on one of them.
Here’s what it was like onboard.

🚨#BREAKING: Evacuations are underway at Nuclear Weapons Facility Amid Approaching fast Wildfires causing them to halt all operations
📌#CarsonCounty | #Texas
Currently, evacuations are underway at the Pantex nuclear weapons facility in Carson County, Texas, due to rapidly spreading wildfires in the area. The facility, located 21 miles east of Amarillo, holds nearly 20,000 plutonium cores and is actively producing the B61-12 bomb and W88 Alt370 warhead. As the plant is Responsible for assembling and disassembling America’s nuclear arsenal, the plant has halted all operations because the nearby fire is out of control. Focus has shifted entirely to evacuations, with a few non-essential personnel seeking shelter on-site – at Texas, USA

While in space, astronauts exercise for two hours per day to stay fit & mitigate effects of bone and muscle loss in microgravity. Here, @lunarloral takes a spin on the station’s bicycle, CEVIS, for aerobic & cardiovascular conditioning.

ALT NASA astronaut and Expedition 70 Flight Engineer Loral O'Hara pedals on an exercise cycle, also known as CEVIS, or Cycle Ergometer Vibration Isolation System, inside the International Space Station's Destiny laboratory module. The CEVIS provides aerobic and cardiovascular conditioning and supports science activities, pre-breathe spacewalk activities, periodic fitness evaluations, and pre-landing fitness evaluations.

Have reached out to both Alaska Airlines and Boeing on this. The aircraft involved was a brand new 737 Max 9 delivered to the airline at the end of October. This is an extremely hazardous and also rare occurrence.
