I'm back writing for @ForeignPolicy on why ancient Sparta is unworthy of modern emulation and in particular the US military's love affair with all things Spartan is both inappropriate and hazardous: foreignpolicy.com/2023/07/22…

Spartans Were Losers

The U.S. military’s admiration of a proto-fascist city-state is based on bad history.

1/ New CDC recommendation on ventilation - as equivalent ACH (eACH). Aim for at least 5 air changes each hour and upgrade to MERV-13 filters. More thoughts below. cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nco…

Hey @larmbrust @armbrust_usa, would love to have @cleanairkits measure CADR of their boxes using your Nano filters, see if you can work something out.

Replying to @DrTedros @WHO
I hope that healthy indoor air will be part of the proposed amendments. After all, Covid is airborne and not just Covid. Thank you very much.

For those who want a quick recap on #epidemiology: It was plumbing that ended the cholera epidemic, not drinking sewage to strengthen everyone's immune system. Thanks for coming to my #tedtalk. #CovidIsNotOver

My V-Flex order just arrived. Was resisting since they look ridiculous. But no other respirator I’ve tried stays leak-free around my big nose, especially when talking. FixTheMask works for me, but is a little clunky. I’ve joined the gang, I guess, @masknerd
