The under-reporting of disability hate crime (DHC) is widely acknowledged, and a DHC training package for police and the wider criminal justice sector has been developed by support organisation Dimensions, working with Nottingham Trent University (NTU); an evaluation of the training by NTU’s Associate Professor Dr Irene Zempi, Professor Loretta Trickett, and Professional Policing Course Leader Martin Tangen, highlights the positive impact of the package, as well as the importance of training being informed by lived experiences.

Great to be at @ASCAPPG coffee morning with members of the @DimensionsUK Council. It’s important for MPs to understand person-centred support and the people who are affected by their policies. #socialcare

Hitting health & care providers with this tax hike will only further hinder people’s access to medical treatment they need.
In #StAlbans, providers have already told me about the strain this’ll add.
@LibDems are calling on govt to urgently exempt them from this NIC rise 👇
Labour's National Insurance tax rise will hit health and care services and punish patients.
It risks making the NHS and social care crisis even worse and should be cancelled.

I am hugely concerned that the budget which rightly prioritised investment in the NHS, will be undermined by the impact of NICs rises on care companies, GPs, hospices and dentists
That's why I have joined colleagues in calling on the Chancellor to think again

While investment in the NHS and SEND is welcome, #SocialCare remains almost forgotten in today’s #Budget.
It fell far short of delivering the investment millions of disabled people need to ensure they can access the care and support they are entitled to.

Our members @DimensionsUK get to the heart of the alarming issues raised for social care providers by #Budget2024. Many providers simply won't be able to afford the increase in Employers' NIC & National Living Wage rises. These rises need to be fully funded
