🗓️ Saturday 27th of this month (April)
Save the date!
📓Mark it in your diary.
The Countess is hosting a conference in the RDS on the subject of Resisting Ideology, with a great line-up (and not just bcos I'm on it 😜)
It will be a comprehensive look at the dangers of [trans]gender ideology (including the #HateSpeech legislation) and the actions we need to take to protect the rights of vulnerable children and women.
🗳️
@TheCountessIE was one of a handful of organisations (voluntary or otherwise) who stood up to the entire* political establishment and the NGO sector, with their goliathan resources. After speaking to so many people around the country it became clear that we were standing together.
With TDs, ministers, and of course the ol' NGOs ignoring the message they were sent during the #Referndum24 and trying to forge ahead with the dangerous, unwanted, and unnecessary Hate Offences legislation; plans for pharmacological experiments on minors with gender identity issues; and the continued force feeding of [trans]gender ideology in our schools, we need to send that message again. Louder this time!
🔊Let's make this event one they can't ignore.

RECEIPTS: our organisation @TheCountessIE has been working fearlessly behind the scenes for YEARS. We can prove that the relevant minsters and statutory bodies were put on notice regarding the danger of PB, WPATH, transitioning etc and ignored this. We were dismissed or fobbed off but we never, ever gave up. Join us on 27th of April for a day-long conference in the RDS examining how we got here and how far and deep the tendrils of this ideology reach.

Just two months after our public launch in 2020, trans activists drafted a letter that was signed by a host of NGOs, calling for us to be stripped of our rights to political and media representation. It appears that media representation from mainstream media in Ireland was indeed limited. Tonight, Laoise de Brún BL @anliathluachra CEO & Founder of The Countess spoke to Tucker Carlson in the US.

Please clarify “marriage type” relationships. @ElecCommIRL and #carers These referendums are a nonsense. From the beginning we have had nothing obfuscation and downright disinformation. We all need to #VoteNoNoRef24 – at Kildare, Ireland
Replying to @ColetteColfer @RTE_PrimeTime
Not according to Supreme Court Justice and Chair of the Electoral Commission, Marie Baker who suggests durable relationships will refer to "marriage-type relationships" which would exclude the parent-child relationships.
"First, you never expect anything outlandish from the Supreme Court. Any constitutional interpretation will read the words in context, and it is likely the court will have regard to the position of article 41.1 among marriage-type relationships.'

Well done @ColinMangan_TGC so eloquently and articulately set out 💪🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Countess spokesperson Colin Mangan in the @kerryman_ie today:
"To anyone trying to think of what to give you mother this Mother's Day, why not start with the gift of not erasing the only mention of her in the constitution and retaining the current recognition of the tireless work she does, and other women do for their families" 👏👏👏#VoteNoNo #VoteNoRef24

Maria Steen eloquently destroys Micheál Martin and the government's false assertion that Constitutional change will not bring about changes to legislation in areas such as succession law, immigration law, social welfare law and so forth. Legislation can be amended and overhauled by the government. The government are under a duty to ensure that existing and new legislation does not conflict with our Constitution. Legislation is open to challenge in the courts if Constitutional changes are implemented that conflict with current laws. Indeed, by removing Article 41.2 mothers are left at the mercy of successive governments who can reduce or erode protections and benefits so that she can care for her children at home, as enshrined in our Constitution. We should be fighting for MORE rights for mothers to care for their children at home, NOT cancel those rights as enshrined in our Constitution. Extending the definition of a family to a 'durable relationship' will have a significant impact on existing and new legislation. Do NOT trust the government. #VoteNoNo

Not one family will be recognised by the insertion of "durable relationships" bcos they would first have to go to court for a judge to decide if they are or not, with no certainty bcos the term is not defined.
Amendment 40 actually weakens the obligation on the state to the majority of carers who are women and/or mothers by removing the stronger obligation that is currently there for mothers
Article 42B could simply have been added. If that had been the proposal, it would have passed unopposed.
#VpteNoNo to the cluelessness of the #VoteYesYes advocates.
Don't #VoteYesNo bcos not one family will actually be recognised.
Great to see Government and Opposition parties out together to show support for #VoteYesYes!
We're united in calling for a more inclusive Constitution that recognises all types of families and family care, while putting a stronger obligation on the state to support this care.

Article 42B could simply have been added. If that had been the proposal, it would have passed unopposed.
The majority of carers in this country are women and mothers and a 2022 Care Alliance Ireland survey showed the majority want to be recognised as mothers.
The proposed amendment weakens the position for the majority of carers who, again, are women and mothers.

Don't #VoteYesNo bcos not one family will actually be recognised.
"I have a brother with special needs, he's hugely important to us. The family is the primary caregiver. It needs to be recognised that it's more than just about the mother giving that care."

What did Eamonn de Valera have to say about article 41.2, in 1937, in the Dáil?
He was aware of the "cheap gibe" about a woman's place being in the home, which was directed at working class women who were forced to work out of economic necessity.
"It is a strange position that the sacred word "home" should be omitted."
"Deputy MacDermot tells me that I would have been wiser if I had proceeded in another way. Of course I could. I need not have put in the word "home" there, but because the word "home" is mentioned, it brings back to the minds of certain people the fact that there was a very cheap gibe at women who were not able to be in the home either through inclination or the economic necessity which compelled them to work elsewhere—the cheap gibe that their place was in the home.
I am not responsible for that gibe, and I am not going to leave the word "home" out of its proper context because there is a gibe associated in some people's minds with it.
It is a strange position that the sacred word "home" should be omitted. Well, I am not going to omit it anyhow. As far as I can get any support, it is going to remain, but there is no implication and no suggestion of inferiority as regards other women.
There is a just recognition here of the special part that is played by mothers in the home, and there is, further, the indicated intention of the community, through its Legislature, to endeavour to secure that that work, which is so vital to the State, shall not be hindered by economic conditions which force women to work outside.
#VoteNoNo to erasing the recognition of the otherwise unrecognised work that women do in raising their families.
#VoteNoNo to forcing mothers to work because of economic necessity, in such a way that negatively impacts children.
Don't #VoteYesYes and endorse the lies and misinformation of the yes campaign.
