This 15 year old article could have been written today. The 5 unscientific assertions listed here and in @ILAToday's Reading Today from this month in 1997 aren't SUPER different then and now. drive.google.com/file/d/19TX…

Listened to SoR advocates from USA at AARE conference. Their work was so methodologically flawed. They failed to define anything and relied on assumption. They even referred to working in a slave area of Mississippi !!!!! My worry is they have come here to talk to policy makers.

Marie Clay's contributions change the lives of educators like myself who believe deeply in expending $, time & resources on practices with a strong research basis (vs. opinion/desire) but she also changed the lives of countless children. I'm forever grateful to Dr. Clay!
Celebrating Dr. Marie Clay’s contribution to the field of education, @PDavidPearson reminds us that her work should be celebrated. Let’s reject the story they’re trying to sell. #MarieClay #ReadingRecovery
