#BREAKING Over 400 Indian-origin students, researchers and alumni across 27 countries have issued a statement titled 'Spare India from Anarchy' The signatories, including individuals affiliated with MIT, Oxford, Harvard, Stanford and Cambridge, have raised concerns over protests and what they describe as attempts to undermine India's constitutional institutions The statement criticises the growing preference for street protests over parliamentary dialogue and calls for political differences to be resolved through constitutional and democratic processes

To everyone seeing the scenes of riots in France today and having schadenfreude, please be aware that it could happen to us in our neighbourhood too. That is actually what the CJP, AAP and Cong hoped would happen during NEET and CEC protests. It’s our good fortune that our countrymen could see through the nefarious design and did not play ball. And the idiots who outrage on instagram are too lazy and weak to have an impactful movement. And we are lucky to have a government to deal with them in a way that they need 5 days to recover after every 1 day of protest. In your khayalis of teaching modi a lesson, or bjp a lesson, please do not heed to the anti national forces. We are a country which is on the rise. Our economy is booming, deeptech flourishing, services doing well, manufacturing is firing on more cylinders than ever and if we keep at it at this intensity for another decade, we will be far ahead in the world than even some of the developed countries. This is not the time to let into your households people who cry “bharat tere tukde honge” and the ones who sympathise with them. Lets stand united, united for India. Together, and only together & united we win!

Attention Amnesty International. Civil rights being curtailed is absolutely unacceptable right? We the 'third world' expect you to haul up France if protestors are restricted from disturbing peace. It is their right to do so. You told us that. xitter.cf/Telegraph/status/21119…
The French president announced civil liberties could be curtailed in an evening address from the Élysée Palace after government buildings were torched and shops ransacked in nationwide protests. 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2…

This “India needs patriots, not parasites”
I think what is actually needed is for Indian people to actually give a damn about their cities and fellow citizens. Anybody using the "I pay taxes, I shouldn't have to do anything" excuse should go live in another country. India isn't developed, it's developing, so it needs patriots, not parasites. If this triggers you, it means you're part of the problem. If you're not happy with the footpath (or a pothole, or anything else which is broken), fix it, or call someone to fix it, and don't give up until it's fixed. Be relentless. Be vocal. Be creative. Make it your mission to get that one thing fixed. Look at what Virendra (@Virendra0698) did by just calling the right people and being respectful (but also persistent). He and Arun Pai (@arunpaiblrwalks) along with the help of GBA and some wonderful volunteers turned an unofficial garbage dump into a pristine, beautiful footpath through sheer force of will. xitter.cf/Virendra0698/status/21…

It is a lapse on my part if I hosted you for an interview at my residence and didn’t remember it. I am sorry for that. Apart from this lapse I don’t see any rudeness in my post. A strong difference of views. I still maintain that the protest site should be moved away from the core areas of the central institutions in the capital city. The declared agenda of the principal opposition party is regime change. The Cockroaches cock a snook at all constitutional institutions in most disparaging terms. With the declared anarchic agenda of these “peaceful” protestors we need to avoid the build up of a situation where a France like situation gets created. There is currently street rioting in Belgium and Denmark too with strong police response. You mention the freedom struggle . Do we see the current protests as one against a colonial power? Does the total revolution called for JP have any parallel with today’s situation? What do we want? A political and economic collapse of India by those who can’t win power through the democratic process? The youth have grievances no doubt and all is never well with governance in India given the scale of our problems and challenges , but let us not put such primacy to JM as a designated protest site to the point of ignoring the declared agenda of the opposition that their struggle is now against the Indian state.
With due respect Mr. Sibal, of course it matters where the protest is being held. BJP, Congress and the left have led several protests over last three decades at Jantar Mantar. The issue we debate isn’t about people supporting or against this particular ongoing protest. Of course people are against “Regime Change” and “Inspiration from Bangladesh” or any such anti-India hate terminology. But here we debate protest location for all Indians across ideologies and issues. Why has Jantar Mantar suddenly become unsafe and a major security risk? Since years we have had major protests at this location which Police has strategically and bravely controlled. If a particular mob is indulging in violence, Police has every right to arrest them, take strongest possible action and take legal course. De-notifying Jantar Mantar won’t help. Jantar Mantar is centrally located. It’s close to Parliament and Seat of the Government. Protest is a fundamental right for all Indians across ideologies. It has to be seen and felt. Moving it several miles away in an isolated place doesn’t make sense in any way. Beauty of Indian democracy is the Govt, opposition, SC, EC, Bureaucracy, People and the Media. India has seen several historic protests from Freedom Struggle to JP Movement. We shouldn’t be afraid of any protests or even threats. Trust to Police to be competent to handle elements against the nation. Globally protests are held near Parliament or Govt Central Building. Don’t fall in the trap of certain protestors who want Govt to take such steps in haste to invite attacks from usual suspects. Don’t give them fodder. Lastly, if you don’t know me, you shouldn’t have responded honestly. Why waste your and my time? Just agree to disagree! I know who you are. I won’t call your arguments hollow even if your language is rude and unnecessarily provocative. Even though I didn’t indulge in any personal attack. Many years ago you hosted me at your residence and gave me an interview at your rooftop. With respect. Thanks

Normal citizens are intimidated by friends of Aditya Gadhvi and Hardik Dave in BJP. Not a word against these singers for their controversial statements. This is a new low: Selling Hindutva for mere #Garba passes.
