Kolibri 1 now runs natively in Transformers 5.20!
We are still overwhelmed by all the community feedback.
You can now spin up our Kolibri models in just a few lines of code using 🤗transformers.
Special thanks go to Luca Motz (@lucamotz3141) and Harry Mellor (@hmellor_) for pushing this.

Just watched the @netflix Instadocs about the @OpenAI cyberattack on @huggingface. Super disappointing, as they went for maximum anthropomorphism of the technology and full doomer mode.
I spent more than two hours with them trying to correct all their mistakes and ground this in reality, explaining that agents are technological systems, not aliens. But it looks like the drive to scare people for maximum views was too strong.
Also, they didn’t mention the lack of containment and monitoring of the agents, how closed-model safeguards blocked our defensive work, or how we defended ourselves with AI using an open model. And that we still lack a lot of information and transparency, including full agent traces and that companies need to remain accountable for what their agents do.
It ends up being a fun sci-fi movie though!

It feels pretty fitting for @JensenHuang & @nvidia to end their European tour with Microducks on stage.
Microduck was designed and engineered in Europe (more precisely Bordeaux, France) by the @pollenrobotics and @huggingface teams. With American capital and ambition + Chinese manufacturing genius, it became the most popular robot of 2026 with over 15,000 sold all over the world!
I believe Europe has more opportunity to shine in AI than in any previous tech wave. We intend to prove it with @huggingface @nvidia and the whole open-source AI community in the coming years!
Let's go European AI 🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺

We're open sourcing SPACE, the sandbox platform that runs every task in Perplexity Computer.
SPACE gives each agent task its own Firecracker microVM and controls credentials and outbound traffic from outside the VM.

Building agents? You need to know what the model can actually do with tools before you trust it in production.
That's why I built tool-eval-bench: 69 real-world tool-calling scenarios (97 with Hard Mode) you can run against any model, local or cloud, across quants and serving engines.
2.8 just shipped, focused on confidence in the results:
- stricter graders catch fabricated success claims
- optional decision-model audits flag disagreements for review
- malformed server responses count as infra failures, not model mistakes

Already using it? Rerun your baselines. 2.8 scores aren't comparable to 2.7.
New engines: TabbyAPI, Strata, TensorFold. Thanks @grau_marc for the feedback that shaped the decision-model audits.

🚀 Meet Qwen-Image-2.1-Turbo — create and edit images in just 8 denoising steps! Open weights now available!
Built on Qwen-Image-2.1, Turbo is an accelerated checkpoint on the same 7B visual generation architecture.
Fewer steps does not mean lower quality: it still generates strong 2K images from text, and supports continued creation through natural-language edits, from adding accessories to changing a scene.
Start directly with Diffusers: load QwenImage21Pipeline and the checkpoint’s recommended 8-step sampling schedule is ready to go.
🌐 Prefer an API? Qwen-Image-2.1 Pro and Turbo APIs are now officially live. Choose a hosted API for your application, or use the Turbo weights in your own workflow.

30 community builds.
First GGUF went up 11 hours after release.
Runs on Apple Silicon, llama.cpp, Blackwell, a single 4090.
