#NEW: This is Detroit Prep - one of the top K-8 schools in the city.
10 years ago, this building was left vacant and abandoned. In 2019, Detroit Prep officially moved in and has been revitalizing it since.
After years of heart and hustle, the charter school wants to own their building and buy it outright.
They need $250,000 to do it - so they're turning to GoFundMe to raise the money.
Tonight on @Local4News, you'll hear from the school's co-founder and executive director.
We are beyond grateful Kyla! Thank you so much for sharing our story!

Detroit Prep took an abandoned building in Pingree Park and transformed it into one of the city's top-performing elementary schools.
They're asking for support to make the building theirs, permanently. Lend a hand if you can!
