$UNI futures are now live on CME.
Most people see another ticker.
We see another way to manage exposure.
More instruments don’t guarantee better yield.
But better hedging can make better-structured yield possible.
That’s the part DeSyn is watching.
What would you build?
CPI drops tomorrow at 8:30 ET.
What’s BTC’s first move after the print?

On days like this, APY becomes the second question.
The first: “Can I exit?”
Good yield products are designed for both.
2024: Hold NVDA.
2026: Post NVDAc. Borrow $USDC.
Assets aren’t just going onchain.
They’re getting jobs.
Assume the same stablecoin.
Which risk-return profile would you choose today—and why?
✅ 5% liquid & clear
✅ 8% with 30-day lock
✅ 12% incl. incentives
✅ Need more risk data
5/ Before asking “How high is the APY?”, ask:
• Who is paying it?
• Why are they paying it?
• How long can it continue?
• How quickly can I exit?
Yield is a number. Its source is the product.
4/ Structured strategies
Basis trading, leverage and restaking can create additional return.
They can also introduce multiple layers of market, liquidation, counterparty and integration risk.
3/ Token incentives
A protocol distributes tokens to attract liquidity.
The headline APY may look attractive, but part of it can disappear when emissions are reduced.
2/ Trading fees
Liquidity providers earn from market activity.
But the return may come with impermanent loss, inventory risk and exposure to volatile assets.
1/ Lending interest
Borrowers pay for access to liquidity.
The yield depends on real borrowing demand and pool utilization—and can change quickly when either one moves.
“10% APY” can mean very different things.
Before comparing the number, understand what creates it.
A short thread on where onchain yield actually comes from 🧵
#DeFi #OnChain #Stablecoins
The Fed raised rates by 25 bps. That raises the bar for onchain yield.
A higher APY isn’t enough.
If a strategy adds smart contract, liquidity or counterparty risk, users should see exactly what they’re being paid for.
Transparency is part of the return.
Which risk is still hardest to evaluate?
Markets are waiting on the Fed.
Onchain yields may reprice after the decision. The risks won’t disappear with them.
When evaluating a yield opportunity, what do you look at first?
0%Source of yield
17%Exit liquidity
17%Contract risk
67%Sustainable yield

Instead of pretending we have a big announcement, we want to reopen the conversation:
What still feels broken about onchain yield and liquidity products today?
Complexity? Risk visibility? Fragmented opportunities? Something else?
We’re listening.
Infrastructure progress on @CantonNetwork continues.
Recent work includes:
• More reliable NAV & pricing logic
• Improved deposit receipt transparency
• Early development of a reusable DeFi security framework
Quietly refining the infrastructure behind scalable on-chain liquidity.
